Gaming Report – July 2016 The projected expenses and donations for August 2016 total is $159,850. This total includes a maximum contribution of $40,000 to MN/USAW. Also needing approval for trade area requirements are the following; Trade area requirements for Minneapolis go to MN/USAW. President Presiding Operations: Southern Club Liaison: No representative Open Tournament Coordinator: No representative Pairing Officials: No representative Table Workers: No representative Seniors: No representative Awards: No representative Coaches-Freestyle/Greco: No representative Cadets: No representative UWW Junior/University: No representative Norther Club Liaison: No representative Kids Coaches Council: No representative Cadets: No representative Kids: No representative Mat Officials: Tom- email sent 7/28. I will not be on the call tonight. We had 20 mat officials and one pairing

official in Fargo, 3 first timers. All presented the calm professional attitude that we have come to embrace in Minnesota. I was proud of how all the officials represented the state of Minnesota. The 20 number is an all time high for MNUSA. Two Minnesota officials also won to very prestigious awards. Pete Kuisle won the Glenn Blackman an award for outstanding up and coming young official. Tom Kuisle won the “Older than dirt award” :-) ….. The Phil Portuese Award for outstanding mentor of officials. We were both extremely honored and surprised by the presentations. Another great season for all MNUSAW wrestlers and MNUSA volunteers bites the dust. About 2 weeks to Greco in Rio………Go USA.

Girls/Women: Chad- Emily 2nd at World Team. Went to Peru. Emily won her bracket and there were 4 champs. US

Girls won Girls division. MN has had All America every year since the start. 13 girls at camp. Every girls can come back next year. The push is to get girls to wrestle their last eligible year and into college. Girls all had a good time and no serious injuries. Looking at Girls Varsity Sanctioned High School League. 5 Athletic

directors are part of conversation- Apple Valley, Simley, Cambridge/Isanti, Centennial and Scott West. 6 states current have Girls Varsity. Kansas is trying at the same time as MN.

Juniors: Champ – 67 Freestyle and 50+ Greco at camp. Everything went well and working on the end of year

awards. Sports Medicine: Judy- Charges for Fargo Camp sent to Bill. Cost was up this year, more hours and more sessions

put over budget. Any feedback? Champ- everything was great. Can Judy supply kits? More supplies are needed on site.

Status of late fee donations 2015-2016. Dale- will have a conversation with Donita at the beginning of next week. Hopefully the numbers will be in on both years. 3 people for 2015. Bill to confirm.

New Business:

Best time for first MNUSAW website/social media 101 online tutorial. Motion Wednesday August 10, 7:30 pm. Dave setting up on-line webinar. Every director should be responsible for their own sections of the website. Dave/Carrie will keep front page up to date and professional. The more content, the more traffic to the site.

Email address clean up- emails other than board members- there have been multiple bumps in messages sent out. We need a clean list. Dale will call Jen on email list. Dave will send out email list and there will be one list on google email.

Discuss adding Board meetings to calendar for rest of 2016 and 2017.- Bi-laws should be posting meetings on calendar. 14 days prior to meeting. Annual meetings- notify clubs. Monthly meetings- August will be 8/24/16 at 7:30 p.m. Sept-Dec 2016 to follow.

Champ- Motion to sponsor Heath Bakken for USA Wrestling overseas coaching trip for $1,000. Bill seconded the motion. All in favor- none opposed. Motion passed.

Dale- Ponce training camp. Orlando Ponce sent in letter – he is starting a foundation and is looking for assistance with posting information on Social Media feeds. No financial request. Cannot use our logo, can be listed as an “associate of”. Re-posting of information already on Guillotine, but no commitment on part of MNUSA. Meeting with Mr. Ponce next week.

Dale- MN USA awards- set up on website. We need a good description of how awards came about and what they mean, need something that can be posted on the website. Please send Dale a good description that can be posted.
