WINNIPEG JETS AT MINNESOTA WILD Xcel Energy CenterSunday, November 17, 2013 –7:00 PM (CT)Game 22                (10-9-2) Road Game 9        (3-4-1)

GAME PREVIEW The Winnipeg Jets (10-9-2) will face their geographical rivals in the Minnesota Wild (12-4-4) on Sunday for the second time sincejoining the Central Division this season. The Jets first visit to Xcel Energy Center was a stifling 2-1 loss on Oct. 10 in which the Wildheld Winnipeg to 15 shots on goal. Sunday’s game could be similarly low scoring as the Wild have allowed an average of 2.00 goalsper game this season, second-lowest in the NHL. Winnipeg is currently riding a season-best four-game win streak dating back to Nov.8. The Wild are on their own win streak taking their last three games, all against Eastern Conference opponents.  TEAM NOTES Shootout streak lives onThe Winnipeg Jets extended their season-best win streak to four games on Friday versus Philadelphia on the strength of threeconsecutive shootout wins. The Jets have now come out on top in five-of-six shootouts this season, tying with Washington for the mostshootout victories in the NHL. Only one other time in the Jets’ franchise history has there been three consecutive shootout games: Jan.17/11 –Jan. 22/11 (1-2). The Jets current streak marks the second time this NHL season that a team has won three consecutive gamesin a shootout, with the other being the Phoenix Coyotes from Oct. 31 –Nov. 5. The NHL record for consecutive shootout victories isfour, achieved by the Pittsburgh Penguins from Mar. 21/11 –Mar. 27/11.  Power onWinnipeg’s previously unproductive power play carried the Jets to a come-from-behind shootout win on Friday. In a 3-2 shootout winover Philadelphia, the Jets scored both of their regulation goals while on the man advantage converting on two-of-four opportunities.Defenceman Dustin Byfuglien accounted for both goals on the power play. The last time the Jets scored multiple power play goals ina game was Feb. 1/13 at Tampa Bay (3-8 L). Before Friday, the Jets hadn’t scored a power play goal since Oct. 29 in St. Louis.  Stretching the streakThe Jets opened the season with a pair of wins, which marked their only consecutive victories in 2013-14 until Winnipeg’s current four-game winning streak. With straight wins over Nashville, San Jose, Detroit, and Philadelphia dating back to Nov. 8, the Jets are on theirlongest winning streak since taking five in a row late last season from Apr. 6/13 –Apr. 18/13. The longest win streak in franchise historylasted six games and occurred twice, originally from Mar. 6/09 –Mar. 16/09 and then from Nov. 19/10 –Nov. 30/10. Third period swingsThe Jets trailed the Flyers 2-1 heading into the third period but prevailed in a 3-2 shootout win on Friday. It marked the third timeWinnipeg has comeback from a deficit at the second intermission to win a game this season. The Jets are tied with three others teams(LAK, PHX, WSH) for first in the NHL with three third period comebacks in 2013-14.  PLAYER NOTES Buff buries two PPG’sDustin Byfuglien proved to be the catalyst needed to spark the Jets’ power play on Friday versus Philadelphia scoring both ofWinnipeg’s regulation goals while on the man advantage. The big defenceman, who scored for the first time this season on Nov. 10,now has three goals over the last three games. Byfuglien has been involved in seven of the Jets’ eight power play goals this seasonrecording two goals and five assists on the man advantage. Byfuglien is one of two NHL defencemen to score two PPG’s in a game thisseason. The other is San Jose’s Dan Boyle, which he scored in Winnipeg on Nov. 10 in a shootout win by the Jets. The lastdefenceman in franchise history to score two power play goals in a game was Toby Enstrom on Dec. 30/10 versus Boston. Jets goalies can tame the WildOver their careers, both Ondrej Pavelec and Al Montoya have favourable stats in game against the Minnesota Wild. Pavelec has arecord of 2-1-0 versus Minnesota with a 1.34 goals against average and .959 save percentage. Meanwhile, Montoya has won all threegames played against the Wild recording a 0.97 goals against average and .961 save percentage.  Olli aids on the power play

Veteran forward Olli Jokinen notched two assists on the power play on Friday in Winnipeg's 3-2 shootout win over Philadelphia. Thetwo helpers gives Jokinen three multi-point games this season and 12 points through 21 games. Jokinen is fast approaching his pointtotals from last season when he had 14 points in 45 games in 2012-13.
