Parameters considered:

For the estimation of the mineral resources the following parameters have been considered:-

a) Method of estimation:

Cross sectional method has been adopted for calculation of resources. A cross sectional area has been calculated which multiplied by the length of influence of Anand Brick clay body considered for each section giving the volume of material.

b) Thickness of the mineral body for measured & indicated category:

The total mineralized area is one block. The thickness of the Anand Brick clay is given in geological section plate no- 4.

c) Cut of grade:

Not applicable (as Clay is raw material used).

d) Recovery:

The exposure of the lease area is only gritty soil cover and so the 98% recovery taken whereas 2% is reject.

6.0 MINE DRAINAGE

a) Likely depth of water table Surfaced on observation from nearby wells and water bodies.

Topographically, the area represents generally flat terrain with small undulation 644m above MSL and gentle slope towards the SW-NE side. During the field study of the area, the surrounding wells and tube wells of the area are also studied and it was observed that the ground water body is found at about 15 m below the Surface. Since the depth has been designed only for 1 .2m below surface there is no chance of intervene the water body.

b) Workings expected to be above /reach below water table by the year

This is proposed Anand Brick clay earth mining lease, therefore existing land degradation due to mining or allied activity is not envisaged. The top bottom and ultimate working RL of the area are as follows:-

lop RL(in m) Bottom RL(in m) 7 Ultimate working depth (MRL)

L 642.00 J[J 641.8 TI1J 641.3 -

It has been mentioned, in details of chapter -3 that the mineral body is continuing up to a depth of 2m (max). The excavation will be done up to a depth of 1.2m. As such there is no chance of seepage of water and the quarry depth will not touch the water table as the ground water table has been measured around the lease hold area is much below the lower level of mining activity. The study is done by the tube well and dug well reading of post and pre monsoon period.

c) Quantity and Quality of water likely to be encountered, the pumping arrangements and places where the mine water is finally proposed to be discharged: Question of encountered water due to seepage and its pumping arrangement does not arise due to the reason mentioned above.

11.0 Environment Management plan

A) Attach a note on the status line information with regard to the following:

Existing land use pattern indicating the area already degraded due to quarrying/pitting, dumping, road, processing plant workshop, township etc. in a tabular form:

Existino land Use Pattern:

This is a proposed lease area for Anand Brick clay earth mining and presently land is in barren state. The complete lease area(3.88 acre) is barren at present.

ii) Waste Regime:

Topographically, . Anand Brick clay Deposit represents a generally flat terrain with slight undulation. During the field study of the area, the surrounding wells and tube wells of the area are also studied and it was observed that the ground water body is found at about 15 m below the surface. Since the depth has been designed up to the depth of 1.2 m, there is no chance of intervene the water body. The surface runoff water from some dry small nallas and finally connected to the Marwa Nalla which is located on the SE side at a distance of about 3 m from the applied lease area.

Rain water:

The Anand Brick clay Deposit is located in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand and the area in general, receives appreciable amount of rainfall, which is in the range of 1200mm to 1 500m per year. Most of the precipitation goes on surface run off and finally discharges into the Nalla/Nadi which controls the overall drainage system/pattern of The area.

Ground water:

During the rainy season, some of the rainwater goes below the sub-surface in the applied lease area. The rainwater, which goes into the sub surface in the ground, find its way through cracks, joints and fissures and finally reaches to valley or plain land. During the field study of the area, the surrounding wells and tube wells of the area are also studied and it was observed that the ground water body is found at about 15 m below the surface. r'l'nes t-"n

ii)Impact on Air Quality:

The Ambient Air Quality (AAQ) of the area is not affected, as mining activity has not been started as yet. Applicant shall take adequate measures for dust suppression through movable water tanker. It is proposed that during this plan period, Mining operation in the area shall be carried out by manual method etc. This may cause insignificant impact on air quality. The dust may be generated due to excavated earth, etc. therefore, after the commencement of mining operation, Ambient Air Quality of the area shall be monitored to know the change in air quality.

hi) Impact on Dust Fall:

There is no dust fall in the area, mine owner shall take adequate measures for dust suppression through water sprinkler.

iv) Impact on Noise Characteristics:

The main source of noise in the project area is due to use of tractor etc. As the mining operation in the lease area has not yet started, impact on noise due to this mine is negligible. There may be some noise pollution due to movement of tractor etc.

v) Impact on water Quality:

Surface and ground water is not affected due to mining activity of this mine. There is no perennial source of water within the applied lease area. There is no cause of contamination of water, as no industrial effluent is discharged and there is also no quarry discharge water from mine.

vi) Vibration levels (due to blasting):

There will not be any blasting and hence no vibration issue envisaged

vii) Socio - Economics:

It is a fact that Anand Brick clay deposit of this Ranchi district is located in backward areas where general living condition of the people is below poverty line. Agriculture has not been developed in the region to the extent it should have been. People; therefore depend mostly on this type of Anand Brick clay earth mines or other local work for their livelihood. This has got a positive impact on the living condition of the local inhabitants. At least, these people have been assured of their daily bread.

Besides the direct employment in the mines, indirect engagement may be two to three times. Mining activity in the area has brought some positive effect like better employment potentiality, better health care, better living, better sanitation condition, better education facilities etc.

Water Quality Management:

Surface water and ground water sources are not affected due to this project. Since mining will be restricted above water table and away from the nalla, there is very little chance of contaminating water. There will be no discharge of waste water from the quarry. However, during rainy season there may be a chance of surface water run-off mixing contamination of suspended and dissolved solids. Plan is being proposed to control water contamination during rainy season, if any:-

> A drain around quarry, to arrest flow of loose sediments before discharge into the drainage system of region through settling tank.

> Construction of drain to guide the rain water from higher to lower contour. Drain to be cleaned up periodically.

> Strengthening of small/ cock barriers across the drain at intervals to check the water current and to arrest the solid particles.

Air Quality Management:

The Ambient Air Quality (1AAQ) of the area is not affected due to mining activity because adequate measure has been proposed by applicant. It is further proposed that during this plan period, there may be insignificant generation of dust due to

excavation and handling etc. As a preventive measure, water sprinkling shall be done on the road to suppress the dust. Plantation shall be done within the safety/berm zone to create a green belt all along the ML boundary which shall screen the dust.

Waste Management:

From the development plan, it is clear that there will be generation of minor quantity of waste during this plan period.

Top —Soil Management:

There is no top soil in the lease area hence top soil management question does not '3fl

arise. ;.

It is plan to start mining operation by opencast manual method, where the Anand Brick clay earth will be excavated. There is no scope of closure of mines in the near future.

Safety and Security:

The life of the mine has been anticipated to be 5 Years based on mineralized area estimated. It has been calculated that at this stage, about 2.6acres area will come under excavation. The proposed working of Anand Brick clay extraction has been planned up to depth of I .2m. At this stage, it is proposed this area shall be left as water reservoir for rain water harvesting, the water of which will be utilized by local people for their domestic purpose. On the other hand, year-wise plantation will be carried out along the safety/berm zone to develop a green belt. Till that time, private security guards will be engaged for security and safety.

Disaster Management and Risk Assessment:

High risk factors such as landslide, subsidence flood etc is neither encountered nor anticipated. As such, emergency plan for quick evacuation, ameliorative measures are not proposed/envisaged.

The following protective measures would be taken up to deal with the unforeseen circumstances that may arise due to temporary discontinuance of the mine.

i. The entry of the pits would be fenced with Notice board at the fences prohibiUng entry into any of the pits by unauthorized persons. The boundaries of the pits would be fenced off to prevent cattle entering the pits.
