MINIMAL UPSET
COMPLETION WORKOVER RISER
GMC provides industry leading Completion and Workover Riser
(CWOR) connection systems in compliance with ISO:13628-7m and API
spec 17G.
The GMC minimal upset CWOR is available from 5,000 psi to 15,000
psi and sizes from 5 1/8” to 7 1/16” bore. Larger sizes and higher
pressure ratings are available on request.
The compact nature of the GMC connector design (minimal OD),
offered as an internally flush or externally flush connector,
provides significant benefits for Completion or Workover Riser
applications:
• Deployment of the GMC connector is easily achieved through
limited diameter restrictions, such as Rotary Tables, deck hatches,
exiting MODU Texas Deck’s, Moon Pools or Drilling risers.
• The small upset, or optional externally flush OD of the
connector, facilitates the ease so that additional control or
service lines can be attached to the riser, if required.
• Reduced individual CWOR spool weight; therefore, reduced total
riser string weight. (weight saving achieved due to reduction in
both connector and pipe material.)
• Standard dual Metal-to-Metal seals satisfying well control
requirements for double barriers on all connections with an option
for a tertiary seal when the connector is used in conjunction with
the GMC patented Pre-load Insert.
• Fatigue resistant design which is further enhanced with the
optional use of the GMC patented Pre-load Insert.
• Fast and efficient connector make process, saving time and
cost.
• Individual seal testing can be performed on makeup and before
lowering for verification purpose.
