• Lately, E.B.P.A. have signed up cooperation agreement with two independent certification bodies( AIB Vincott and Din Certco) for assisting local business to apply biodegradable certification.

• To follow the EPA (The Environmental Protection Administration, Taiwan) environmental protection policies and regulations.

• On January 29th 2016 , E.B.P.A. successfully established the Pan Pacific Bioplastics Alliance(PPBA) which is currently consisting of EBPA, KBPA, TBIA, JBPA, BPI and ABA.

Plastic Products Restriction Policy in TaiwanPart 1 -Waste Management Act

In July 1st 2002, government announced “plastic bag” and “disposal cutlery” restriction policy

Policy content:1. Store owners are banned

to offer free plastic bags(PE、PP、PS、PVC ) for consumers . Each plastic bag should be charged at least NTD$1 .

2.Plastic bags thickness ≧0.06mm

Penalty : NTD 1,200~ NTD 6,000

In 2016, Government tends to make more regulations which include:

1. Add 6 more restricted categories:

Teahouse 、 Laundry 、Pharmacy 、Medical equipment store、Electronic product store 、Office supplies store

2. Cancel plastic bag thickness restriction

3. NTD $5 charge per plastic bag
