3.Attachthewheeltothelandinggearusingablack#4washerand4-40locknut.

4.Withthefuselageleveltotheworksurface,rotatethewheelpantsoitisalsoleveltoyourworksurface.Markthelocationfortheattachmentscrewusingafelt-tippedpen.


5.Useadrilland1/16-inchdrillbittomakeaholeatthelocationmadeinthepreviousstep.

6.Securethepanttothelandinggearwitha2mmx6mmwoodscrew.

7.RepeatSteps2through6fortheremainingwheelandwheelpant.

1.Solderanyconnectorstothespeedcontroltoconnecttothemotorbatteryandmotorifnecessary.ConnecttheESCtothemotorandsecureittothebottomofthemotorboxusinghookandloopmaterial.ActualESClocationmayvarybutproperairflowandcoolingisimportant.

2.Connectthespeedcontroltotheradiosystemandmotorbattery.Checkthatthemotorisrotatinginthecorrectdirection.Itwillrotatecounterclockwisewhenviewedfromthefrontoftheaircraft.Usetheinstructionswithyourspeedcontroltocorrectamotorthatisoperatinginthewrongdirection.

3.Slidethepropelleradapterthroughtheholeinthepropeller.

4.Slidethe1/2-inch(13mm)plasticwasherontotheadapter.

5.Slidethespinnerbackplateontotheadapter.Threadthepropellernutontotheadapter,butdonottightenitatthistime.

6.Tapefourpiecesofcardstocktothefuselagetoindicatethelocationsforthecowlattachingscrewsandthefrontedgeofthefuselage.

7.Slidethecowlingonthefuselage.Withthepropelleradapteronthemotorshaft,positionthecowlsothereisagapbetweenthespinnerandcowling.

8.Usea1/16-inch(1.5mm)drillbittodrillholesthroughthecowlingandintothesidesofthefuselage.


9.EnlargetheholesinthecowlingONLYusinga1/8-inch(3mm)drillbit.Slidethecowlingontothefuselage.Securethecowlingusingfour2mmx8mmsheetmetalscrews.

Hint: Use thin CA to harden the holes drilled into the cowl mounting tabs. This will help to prevent the screws from vibrating loose in flight.

10.Placethepropellerbackonthemotorshaftandtightentheadapter.Snapthespinnerconeontothespinner.

Note: Make sure to check the balance of the propeller after enlarging the hole in the propeller.

1.Locatethepositionsforthehinges.Drilla1/16-inch(1.5mm)holeinthecenterofeachslotofboththewingandaileron.ThiscreatesatunnelfortheCA,allowingtheCAtopenetrateintothehingebetter,bondingthehingesmoresecurely.

2.Slidefourhingesintotheslitsintheaileron.CentertheslotinthehingewiththeholedrilledinStep1.PlaceaT-pinineachhingetopreventitfrombeingpushedintothewingwheninstallingtheaileron.

Note: Do not use CA accelerator during the hinging process. The CA must be allowed to soak into the hinge to provide the best bond. Using accelerator will not provide enough time for this process.

3.Slidetheaileronintoposition.Checktomakesureitcanmovewithoutinterferenceatthewingrootandwingtip.RemovetheT-pinsandapplyThinCAtoeachhinge.MakesurethehingeisfullysaturatedwithCA.UseapapertoweltocleanupanyexcessCAfromthewingandaileron.MakesuretoapplyCAtobothsidesofthehinge.

Note: Placing a #11 hobby blade between the aileron leading edge and wing trailing edge to position the aileron will result in a nice free-moving hinge for 3D throws without any binding.

4.Firmlygraspthewingandaileronandgentlypullontheailerontoensurethehingesaresecureandcannotbepulledapart.Usecautionwhengrippingthewingandailerontoavoidcrushingthestructure.


5.Worktheaileronupanddownseveraltimestoworkinthehingesandcheckforpropermovement.

6.RepeatSteps1through5fortheremainingaileron.

Range Test Your Radio

PreflightCheck Your Radio

Beforegoingtothefield,besurethatyourbatteriesarefullychargedpertheinstructionsincludedwithyourradio.Chargeboththetransmitterandreceiverpackforyourairplane.Usetherecommendedchargersuppliedwithyourparticularradiosystem,followingtheinstructionsprovidedwiththeradio.Inmostcases,theradioshouldbechargedthenightbeforegoingoutflying.

Beforeeachflyingsession,besuretorangecheckyourradio.Seeyourradiomanualfortherecommendedrangeandinstructionsforyourradiosystem.Eachradiomanufacturerspecifiesdifferentproceduresfortheirradiosystems.Next,startthemotor.Withthemodelsecurelyanchored,checktherangeagain.Therangetestshouldnotbesignificantlyaffected.Ifitis,don’tattempttofly!Haveyourradioequipmentcheckedoutbythemanufacturer.

Note: Keep loose items that can get entangled in the propeller away from the prop. These include loose clothing, or other objects such as pencils and screwdrivers. Especially keep your hands away from the propeller.

Double-checkthatallcontrols(aileron,elevator,rudderandthrottle)moveinthecorrectdirection.

Checktheradioinstallationandmakesureallthecontrolsurfacesaremovingcorrectly(i.e.thecorrectdirectionandwiththerecommendedthrows).Testrunthemotorandmakesureittransitionssmoothlyfromofftofullthrottleandback.Alsoensuretheengineisinstalledaccordingtothemanufacturer’sinstructions,anditwilloperateconsistently.

Checkallthecontrolhorns,servohorns,andclevisestomakesuretheyaresecureandingoodcondition.Replaceanyitemsthatwouldbeconsideredquestionable.Failureofanyofthesecomponentsinflightwouldmeanthelossofyouraircraft.

Flying Your Mini ShowTimeFlyingtheMiniShowTimeisaboutasfunasitcangetatthepark.Averylightwingloadingandextremecontrolthrowsmakeforsomeexciting3Dflying.VerifythatyourCGisatthecorrectlocationasperthemanualandthatyouhaveyourratessetuptoyourliking.Verifyallcontrolthrowsareinthecorrectdirectionandthemotorspinsinthecorrectdirectionaswell.

Pointthemodelintothewindandaddsomethrottletrimuntilthemotorbeginstoturn.Thiswillbeyourflightidle.Now,applypowerslowly.Youwillfindthemodelwillbecomeairborneveryquicklyandatalowspeed.Thismodelexcelsatflyingslowandeasyaswellasfastandextreme.Trimthemodelforlevelflightathalfthrottle.Onlyusefullthrottleformaneuvering.Itisnotrecommendedtoflythismodelfastoratfullthrottleinlevelflight.Doingthiscanresultintheflightcontrolsflutteringandapotentialcatastrophicfailureoftheairframe.

YouwillfindyoucanadjusttheCGtoyourlikingbymovingthebatterypackforeoraftindidethefuselage.Alsokeepthebatteryonthefuselagemountedhigh(atleastatwingcenterlineorabove)tohelpinhoveringmaneuversandharriers.

TolandtheMiniShowTimejustreducethethrottletoidleandfeedinupelevatoruntilthemodelsettlesintoaslightlynosehighattitude.Gentlyflythemodeldowntothelandingspotwithafinalflairattouchdown.Youwillfindthemodelwillhaveaveryshortrollout.WehopeyouenjoytheMiniShowTimeasmuchaswedo.
