Dr. Rod Stewart is a 1983 graduate of the University of Toronto, he maintains a general dental practice in Hamilton, Ontario with a focus on advanced dental reconstructive treatment. He is a member of the AAID Maxicourse Committee and Admissions & Credentialing Board, a former Trustee of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, former Councillor of the Ontario Dental Association, District Officer of the AAID and a part time clinical instructor at the University of Buffalo,

Dr. Sebastiano Andreana is the Director of Implant Dentistry at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Presently he is on the faculty at the AAID Toronto Maxi Course and co-director of the UBSDM Implant Study Club. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology, Journal of the American Dental Association, Clinical Implant Dentistry Related Research, and Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. He is also senior associate editor of Journal of Oral Implantology. Dr. Andreana has published over 100 articles, both nationally and internationally, and presented over 100 research abstracts.

Dr. Tarun Kumar graduated from Kuvempu University and followed it up with Masters in Periodontology from Rajiv Gandhi University. He lives and practices in Davangere and is the Associate Dean of Academics at Bapuji Dental College & Hospital. He is a a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He focuses on advances in Implant Dentistry at the Bapuji Implant Centre and is actively involved with research with several multi-national companies.

Praveen R Arany completed a joint PhD-Residency program at Harvard University as a Harvard Presidential Scholar. He has two certificates in clinical translational research from Harvard Medical School and National Institute of Health. He pursued postdoctoral fellowships at Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore; National Cancer Institute, Bethesda and Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences & Wyss Institute, Cambridge. He is currently an Assistant Professor, Oral Biology, School of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Komal Majumdar graduated from GDC Mumbai and completed her Clinical Mastership in Oral Implantology from State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is a Diploate of the ICOI and ISOI. She has won several awards including 'Outstanding Dentist of the Year' & “implantologist of the year' by Famdent. She practices in Navi Mumbai with an exclusive focus on implants. She is part of various implant education courses.

Dr. Joseph Zambon, Distinguished Teaching Professor of Periodontics and Endodon-tics, Joseph J. Zambon, DDS, PhD, has been named Dean of the School of Dental Medicine, June 2016. Professor Zambon has been a UB faculty member in the School of Dental Medicine since 1982. He currently serves as Associate Dean for Advanced Education and Faculty Advancement. A nationally and internationally-recognized authority on periodontal pathogens and an experienced clinician, Professor Zambon is a prolific and well-funded researcher whose contributions have been recognized by numerous awards and honors.

Dr. Gary Alexander

Dr. Gary J. Alexander was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. He received his D.D.S. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1981. He then completed its postgraduate program in prosthodontics and received a Certificate of Proficiency in Fixed Prosthodontics in 1983. Dr. Alexander is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics & the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. He currently is the clinical assistant professor in the Dept. of Restorative Dentistry.

Dr. Narayan TV

Dr. Narayan graduated from Ambedkar Dental College, Bengaluru in 1992 and pursued his masters in Oral Pathology at Nair Hospital and Dental College, Mumbai. He has over 16 years of teaching experience. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the ICOI and is also the director for ITI study club in Bengaluru. His lives and practices in Bengaluru with focus on Implant and graft related surgeries. He has lectured extensively and is renowned and respected for his command in both theory and clinical applications.

Mr. John Balikowski III, graduated from Erie Community College with an Associate Degree in Dental Technology. He continued his tenure in the family-owned, Balikowski Dental Laboratory for 14 yrs, after which he opened a digital dental lab specializing in CAD CAM dentistry. Currently Mr. Balikowski is the Digital Integration Specialist with the Department of Restorative Dentistry and is also involved in scanning, designing and milling of all ceramic dental prosthetics.

Dr. Jennifer Kuracina

Dr. Kuracina completed a general practice residency at Millard Fillmore Hospital, and received her certificate in combined prosthodontics at the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at that institution, where she teaches in a number of courses in prosthodontics and implant dentistry for dental students and residents in the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics. She has provided continuing education courses to dentists on a number of topics in restorative dentistry.

Dr. Jaibin George completed his BDS at Univ. Madras in 1991. He furthered his education by completing Clinical Mastership in Implant Dentistry from School of Dental Medicine, Stony Brook University, USA. He is the founder director of Cochin Implant Institute and has mentored and conducted several courses on implants. He is also an ICOI diplomate. He has his private practice in Cochin and has consultant implantologist positions in Oman, Zimbabwe and various dental offices in India.

Dr. Amol thorat completed his MDS in Prosthodontics from GDC Mumbai in 2003. He completed advanced training in surgical implantology from germany in 2006, Implant Externship from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and graduated the Clinical Mastership in Implant Dentistry program from Atlanta USA in 2015. Mini-Residency in Oral Implantology is a comprehensive program that includes didactic components with a live surgical modules where partici-pants perform surgeries under the mentorship of UB faculty. All participants have to place at least 5 implants prior to completion. The first three modules

will be conducted in India and the final Module will be held at Univ. Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Buffalo, NY where participants have to attend a MCQ exam to graduation.

Dr. Lanka Mahesh graduated from Ambedkar Dental College, Bengaluru and followed that up with Master Clinician Program in Implantology from UCLA. He is a Fellow and Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He practices in Delhi with a focus exclusively on Implant and craniofacial surgeries. He has authored several books and is the Editor in chief for the International Journal of Oral Implantology and Clinical Research. He has over 100 publications and has lectured extensively world-wide. Dr. Lanka Mahesh

Mr. Kerr was appointed Associate Dean for Administration in 2010 after 23 years of experience at UB in a variety of technology and administrative leadership roles. As Assistant Vice President of Technology, University Business Services, he led the campus wide business intelligence initiative (SIRI) that delivered an all funds / all people analytic and reporting tool to campus leadership and support staff. Module 1: Introduction to ImplantsThe introductory module will introduce basics with a brief history and evloution of implant dentistry. The module runs for 4 days with several didactic & hands-on sessions on models/pig jaws. This Comprehensive module will give clinicians a high confidence level to kick-start their implant practice.

Topics covered include:

þ Site Anatomy: hard/soft tissues and classification of defectsþ Principles and parameters that influence wound healingþ Osseointegration & Bone Biologyþ Taxonomy of instrumention and relevant usageþ Implant Basics: classification, components, types and selection criteriaþ Biomaterial Basics: classification, indications, features and benefitsþ Incision & Flap Designþ Suturing types and techniquesþ Esthetic Risk Assessmentþ Peri-Implant Mucosa & Biologic Widthþ Clinical diagnosis, case selection and treatment planning þ Patient Factors & Complianceþ Medical risk factors & Implant therapy þ Asepsis and Sterilization protocols þ Case Documentation, Dental Photography & Radiological principles

The second module runs for 3 days and includes didactic /hands-on sessions followed by live patient surgeries featuring a Live Demo by DACE Faculty. Each participant will place 4-5 implants on patients mentored by University Buffalo faculty. Sterilization & Surgical principles will be covered in depth and all course materials will be provided including implants/biologics/sutures etc.

Module 4: Advanced ConceptsThis module is entirely dedicated to participants doing second stage covering soft-tissue concepts & implant prosthodontics on patients mentored by faculty. This module will feature morning didactic sessions and afternoon clinical sessions.

Topics covered include:

The module runs for 5 days with hands-on, live demo and didactic sessions. Certification Ceremony with dinner reception will be hosted to commemorate program completion. This module is held at University Buffalo but alternatively, participants can choose to complete Module 4 in Bangalore, India.
