MINI-LINK PT 2020 is a carrier grade compact, flexible and easy to install packet terminal, providing an important contribution to reduce the network cost. The all-outdoor solution speeds up roll out and reduces site costs with no need for a site building.

It is a perfect solution for new all outdoor packet sites, supporting both new networks and expansion of existing ones. You can connect new end sites with MINI-LINK PT 2020 and keep existing MINI-LINK TN in aggregation sites. This is possible since MINI-LINK PT 2020 and MINI-LINK TN are hop compatible. Both products are in constant development to support functionalities required to secure packet network migration in a most effective way.

The combination of MINI-LINK PT and SP families offer a unique media-agnostic approach in boosting the performance to the sites to a full gigabit speed with unprecedented simplicity. It also enables service providers to dramatically reduce trenching cost without sacrificing service availability and capacity. MINI-LINK SP provides additional functions, e.g. more interfaces, MPLS, CES, switching and routing capabilities.

Ericsson has over 40 years of microwave experience with more than 2.6 million radio units delivered to over 160 countries. Ericsson is the market leader in microwave transmission, which is the most competitive choice for capacities up to 1 Gbps.

The perfect fit for MINI-LINK PT 2020 is:

• All outdoor microwave packet end sites where MINI-LINK PT 2020 can be connected directly to the all outdoor RBS, with a MINI-LINK TN at the aggregation site. If a cell site switch/router also is required at the end site there is also an all outdoor solution for MINI-LINK SP.

MINI-LINK PT can also be used in a number of other scenarios suitable for mobile, fixed and enterprise usage:

• Mobile backhaul aggregation sites; – New packet aggregation sites in combination with MINI-LINK SP.– Expansion of MINI-LINK TN and MINI-LINK LH aggregation site with MINI-LINK PT 2020.

• Fixed Broadband and Enterprise;– Cost effective and short implementation time– DSLAM backhaul– Fiber replacement, extending fiber networks – Closing Fiber rings– Private Communication networks

MINI-LINK PT 2020 MINI-LINK PT 2020 is an all outdoor and zero footprint microwave solution based on the next generation packet platform, complementing the successful MINI-LINK portfolio.

Simple installation with optimized TCOConfiguration via CLI reduces complexity and installation time. All outdoor solution provides further savings compared with traditional split-mount solution: up to 20% installation cost, 33% on site rental and up to 45% reduced power consumption.

Network SynchronizationMINI-LINK PT 2020 supports transport of synchronization signal across the hop. Any synchronization signal is carried over the radio hop without occupying any bandwidth allocated for payload traffic. The input/output interface is Optical GbitE supporting Synch E.

Low DelayThe delay performance is typically as low as 100 µs per radio link.

Radio LinkNative Ethernet is supported over the microwave radio link. The maximum air interface rate over the radio is 408 Mbit/s (1024 QAM @ 50 MHz), line interface rate up to 504 Mbit/s depending on compression and frame size. High power option is provided.

XPICThe Radio Link can offer XPIC support for Native Ethernet traffic, providing double capacity within same bandwidth.

Adaptive ModulationThe radio link supports hitless adaptive modulation for 4-1024 QAM over 10 – 50 MHz channels, which provides an error free deployment and constant delay variation securing sync performance.

Eco ModeTraditionally the radio unit consumes the same amount of power independent of the used output power. With MINI-LINK ECO Mode the Radio adjusts its power usage to the power required for the actually used output power, e.g. the radio unit will consume 10-40% less power when the output power is reduced by using ATPC.
