Today’s Outcomes Participants will explore the purpose of the
Mini Lesson, the Read Aloud, the Seminar, and the Teach Share.
Participants will determine the role of teacher and students in the ML, the RA, the Seminar, and the TS based on the purpose of each.
Participants will analyze and identify structures and strategies within each of these instructional practices that encourage connectedness.

your mini lessons, read alouds, and seminar using stage 1 of the character unit document and one text (The Little Red Hen, Thank You Ma’am, or one of your choice). Write 4-5 sequential teaching points aligned to the
goals of the unit Consider places in text to model and ask questions
aligned to teaching points during the read aloud Write 1-2 questions aligned to teaching points to
center the seminar

Try It Out… Focus on the structures, accountability,
and engagement during your mini lessons, read alouds, and seminar using The Little Red Hen or Thank You Ma’am. Consider which structures best allow your
