COLOR PALETTE

MINERALS-18-24 yr old Woman-Hippie/vintage fashion-Interested in history, geology, fashion, mysticism, the old west, the 60’s-Listens to Tame Impala with her friends and Patsy Cline with her Grandpa-Idolizes west coast and desert living

I based my colors story on the magical occurance of minerals in rocks. The deep and transparent colors are embedded with dark and light igneous material that makes the mineral really shine. I applied the lighter and more flourescent colors to the performance shoe due to their energetic qualities. With the Sportswear shoe, I paired the more powerful and saturated colors of the palette to give it a strong and rich quality.

Minerals have been known culturally for their beauty, mystical properties and strength. It’s a trend that is prominent for 2014/2015 and is an idea that the consumer can get behind. Not only are they beautiful, but the texture, shape and geologic importance behind them makes it a fascinating and important subject to investigate for material and pattern as well.

The image to the right is a mineral posessing deep neon hues in warm tones that are powerful and energetic.To the left the image is of a cave where minerals form in their natural environment.The vibrant mineral is enhanced by the cave’s cooler neutrals which not only causes the colors to pop, but compliments them as well.

These gem colors create a more saturated color approach. The rich colors are stable and stand strong with the neutrals as their warmer counterpart. They invoke a sense of balance, strength and power.

- The greenish mustard is eye catching and definitive against the off-white - The light blue neutral sole lifts the shoe off the ground

- Red and blue is a classic and fun pairing - Strong neutral with a streak of soft and rich color
