Pastor's Corner ~ Rev. Eric Lane

Greetings,

By the time that you get this letter a group of us will be in Sibiu Romania. I hope to post

some videos for you on Facebook.

You may begin to notice some activity in the Christian Life Center, as we are preparing

the area for our “SPRING Kids” ministry. This is an exciting time for Mineral Springs.

If you wish to help in the construction, reach out to us either by email or phone and we

will put you on the list.

Additionally, we will be looking for those who are willing to serve in the ministry of our

children. In November we will host a Safe Sanctuary training, and provide applications

for “background checks”. Background checks are required every (3) years so if it has

been a while, you will be asked to complete another form. We will also provide training

in the curriculum.

Finally, after much prayer and deliberation, as the Senior Pastor, I have made a decision

concerning our Traditional Worship. We will begin to operate on a “Winter/Summer”

schedule. This means that on December 1, 2019, we have our Traditional service at

11:00.

Thank you for your support and prayers.

Rev. Eric Lane

A New Beginning.

Life is about transition. We move from an infant to childhood, to adolescent, to a teenager and on and on. With that said, we are making a transition at The Bridge. Jeannie McCoy, who has served for the past (3) years as the Director of the Bridge, has decided to transition from her role as Director. Jeannie came to us at a time where we were in much need of someone of her talents and gifts. I truly feel that God sent her our way to guide us and help us to develop a meaningful and spirit filled worship experience at the Bridge. She now feels that it is time to transition out of that role. We at Mineral Springs want to thank her for her service and for all she has done. Jeannie is not leaving us but rather passing the torch to another, Chris Hartis. Jeannie has been working alongside of Chris, preparing him and will continue to work with him as he begins his role as “Worship Leader”. Again, I want to than Jeannie McCoy for all she has done and welcome Chris Hartis as we continue our journey together. Rev. Eric Lane It is with mixed emotions that I came to the decision that it was time for me to transition out of my role as Director at the Bridge. I have enjoyed getting to work alongside so many of the wonderful people at MSUMC and have been blessed to serve God through this church. I am glad to have been a part of watching the Bridge grow and become a part of this church, and plan to stay involved in other capacities. Thank you so much for your gracious acceptance and support throughout our time together. Blessings, Jeannie McCoy

Thank you to our church family for the call, texts,

visits, support, and prayers during my surgery and

recovery. Everyone at Mineral Springs holds a special

place in our hearts. We truly appreciate all the love

you given us. Love, Charles & Joyce

Thank you for the many expressions of sympathy sent

to us concerning Aunt Lillie’s recent passing. Also, we

appreciate the cards, calls, visits, and meals which we

were blessed to receive following Penny’s surgery.

Roby and Penny Shore

From the Family of Johnny Hildreth

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and thanks

for all the expressions of love we have received over

the past several years. As most of you know, Johnny

had been sick for several years. This past winter he

was sick and struggled to recover. We received the

diagnosis of T-cell Lymphoma and the swift decline

his condition before his passing. During these days of

stress, we were overwhelmed with support gifts, food,

prayers and love. We are doing ok and trying to

adjust to our new normal. We are lifted and

comforted by friends, family, scripture and song.

Several passages that have impacted us greatly are

Psalm 92:1-4, Psalm 46:10 and Jeremiah 29:11 just

to name a few. We are praising Him in His loving

kindness, resting in His peace, being still in His

presence and knowing He has a plan for our future.

Johnny’s celebration of life was an incredible

outpouring of love from all our church family and

friends. Special thanks to Pastor Eric and the United

Methodist Women who made this a true celebration

Johnny’s style. They went above and beyond to

provide for the many who attended. Thanks to so

many who came, including Pastor Mark Evans and the

wonderful members of Wolf Pond Baptist Church, as

well as many family and friends who traveled great

distances to join us. Our family is deeply appreciative

of all that has been done to help us and for all the

prayers to life us up. A very special thanks to Doug

Couick and his loving family for everything. As Johnny

always said, “That Douglas is a good boy.” Thank you

Doug from all of us. The Family of Johnny Hildreth.
