Mineral Project

Question
• At first my question was what was what minerals are in Pasta
• Then I learned that different types of pasta have different minerals
• So I looked into White Pasta and Whole Wheat Pasta
• So my refined Question became what minerals are in each of these pastas and which one gives me more minerals
Whole Wheat Pasta
• Whole Wheat pasta has potassium, selenium, and magnesium
Potassium
• The things potassium does for the body are helps nerves and muscles communicate .
• It also move nutrients into cells and waste products out of cells.
• A diet rich in potassium helps offset some of sodium’s harmful effects of blood pressure.
Selenium
• Helps to prevent damage to cells • Is used in treatment for diseases of the heart
and blood vessels • Aids in the function of the thyroid
Magnesium
• Helps muscles work • Aids in metabolism and bone growth • Required for energy production
White Pasta
• White pasta is high in carbohydrates • Carbohydrates are not good for you if you
have to many of them • Carbohydrates are used for energy • Carbohydrates make you put on a lot of
weight
Conclusion
• In conclusion I have found out that Whole Wheat pasta is give you the most minerals and White pasta give you no minerals it only gives you carbohydrates that give you nothing but pounds. So Whole Wheat pasta gives you the most minerals.
