State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is one of the leading teaching and research
hospitals in the country. Our 454-bed Medical Center is a provider of high-level
medical care for a diversity of diagnoses and to a patient population that reflects the
diversity of the region we serve. We provide care to more than 27,000 inpatients
and 788,000 outpatients, as well as handle nearly 48,000 emergency room visits and
more than 23,000 surgical procedures annually. Our Medical Center campus also
includes Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute and

Penn State College of MedicineThe physicians we train and the research we perform touch the lives of
millions of people of all races and ethnicities. We confer the doctor of
medicine degree and, in conjunction with Penn State’s Graduate School, offer
doctor of philosophy degrees in anatomy, biochemistry and molecular
biology, bioengineering, cell and molecular biology, genetics, immunology
and infectious diseases, integrative biosciences (options in bioinformatics and
genomics and chemical biology), microbiology and immunology, molecular
medicine, molecular toxicology, neuroscience, pharmacology and physiology.

Milton Hershey School®Founded in 1909, this school and home provides a positive, structured home life
and an outstanding pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade education free of
charge to 1,800 boys and girls from families in social and financial need. The
MHS student population comprises a richly diverse student body. A diverse
workforce is critical to the School’s success, providing role models and fostering a
healthy community for the students.
Tours to the School are available via the Hershey Trolley. Visitors are also
welcome to visit Founders Hall at Route 322 and Meadow Lane from
10am-3pm, Monday through Sunday.
Additionally, The Dearden House, on the MHS Alumni Campus, is open for
tours from 9am-3pm Tuesday through Saturday. The Dearden House is on
McCorkel Road west of Route 743.
