Methodology

• Personal and labour commitment of stakeholdersand partners.

• Involvement of other departments from theCity Hall.

• Collabouration with NGOs and social entitiesrelated to migration.

• Commitment and involvement of companies whotrust the Project and its philosophy.

• Flexibility and resilience. It could not bepossible to implement this kind of projectwithout these characteristics. The project mustbe able to adapt to the labour market, which ischanging, and to the adversities of life, likeCOVID-19.

What makes it work

Sustainability/Replicability

• From the start the MILMA project took thelead in implementing the project directly. 15full time municipality employees were trainedand then involved in job searching for thetargeted group .

• Showcase the importance of adjusting to companies' request and promoting job creation.

• Focus on small companies which represents95% of companies in Spain because the largecompanies usually have their own socialinclusion funds and projects.

• Although MILMA Project has not finishedyet and the evaluation process is underway,the City Hall will support its continuationuntil 2023.

Social Impacts• The establishment of a network of

collaborative companies, that co-design mostof the labs: its structure and contents.Moreover, they helped to define the accessprofile and provided non-labour practices aswell as punctual seminars.

• More than 600 companies were initiallyprospected and 119 of them havecollaborated with the project.

• 4 training editions with 28 trainingitineraries in 14 different market sectors.Throughout the four training editions, morethan 6,000 hours of theoretical andpractical training and more than 2,000 hoursof practical training in companies have beencarried out.

• 508 people have been part of the MILMAProject training itineraries, 168 of which areof immigrant or refugee origin from 40countries.

• 60% of the participants claim to haveestablished new relationships of mutualsupport or friendship within the MILMAProject with people of different origins.

Employability. Enterprises will support all those people who are actively looking for work. They will use "learning by doing" methodology, and will generate different services and products demanded by the market.Innovation. Experimental learning model based onthe business challenges proposed by thecollaborating companies.Co-creation. Companies participate in differentlevels: creation of training content, providingtraining, non-labour practices (NLP), seminars,workshops ...Specialized training. This training matches withthe required skills of the professional sector.ETEIs. Experimental Teams of Employment andIntegration. Through a methodology inspired byLanzaderas de Empleo, the most demandedcompetences will be worked.MILMA proposes labour integration throughoutcollaborative work and entrepreneurship using aninnovative methodology called Business ChallengeLab. This initiative looks for active participationfrom the enterprises so that training can matchwith the real demands of the market. Companieshelp to define the theoretical and practicaltraining modules, teach according to areas oftheir professional expertise, offer internships orjobs, and support new business initiativesBusiness Challenge Labs in areas that wererequested by companies: Light FlooringInstallation; Garden Assistant; Design and FrontEnd Web Development; Urban creation andRecycling; Logistics and Storage; Health institutionwarden; Kitchen assistant
