External/Internal Relations:

Develop and maintain relationships with both community leaders and internal stakeholders (LSU Foundation, TAF, ORED, etc.) to facilitate alignment between FPO efforts and the community.

Facilitate productive relationships between FPO and faculty, staff and students on all campuses. Represent LSU’s partnership with Baton Rouge Area Foundation on new programs and initiatives to

bridge the community between LSU Main Campus and Downtown via Zipcar, Bike Share, electrical vehicle charging stations, and other initiatives.

Strategically plan and execute all campus master plan meetings, both external and internal, with NBBJ architectural firm, determining appropriate partnerships to achieve a comprehensive plan.

Manage quarterly meetings to gather 125 building coordinators to discuss facility safety and risk management topics.

Strategic Planning:

Provide programmatic leadership and input for all strategic plan implementation processes for Facilities & Property Oversight (FPO).

Identify opportunities for FPO to leverage cross-campus strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges.

Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls and procedures. Provide guidance and leadership through management of the reporting and monitoring process of

organizational performance metrics. Support impact initiative planning, project management and implementation state-wide. Lead and develop new program strategies and program enhancements in partnership with other

LSU campuses. Research, develop and support implementation of new program enhancements to increase

programmatic impact (e.g. sustainability, technology, project planning, operations and maintenance).

Create system(s) for tracking past and future programmatic enhancements, pilots, and key lessons. Partner and lead consultant work when necessary. Provide oversight, vision & organizational strategies for Campus Sustainability to ensure LSU

becomes national model .for sustainability. Create strategies, initiatives and programs and implement them to integrate sustainability into both

operational & academic functions of the university. Develop and implement communication strategies to promote broad awareness of initiatives &

develop University-wide process and organizational structure to support program inquiry, change, and assessment.

Special Projects:

Serve as primary point of contact within the Facility and Property Oversight unit for external offices and constituencies to create, promote and support efficiency improvement efforts.

Research and identify appropriate local, state, federal, private and corporate funding sources and apply for grant monies to benefit the University in maintaining and updating campus facilities and grounds.

Prepare application, budgets, and other requested materials, and monitor awarding of grants. Approve financial documents and works with OSP and OSPA to finalize contracts and ensure grant

monies are properly credited and distributed and that sponsor requirements are met. Confirm payment and budgetary limits are maintained per grant requirements. Created the Facility Services’ Service Award Ceremony to recognize staff and boost morale during

economic downturn and job insecurity.
