First Angel’s Message (1798 – )

The apostle Paul warned the church not to look for the coming of Christ in his day. “That day shall not come,” he says, “except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed.” [2 Thessalonians 2:3.]…Paul covers with his caution the whole of the Christian dispensation down to the year 1798. It is this side of that time that the message of Christ's second coming is to be proclaimed. {GC88 356.1}

Resolved, That the time has fully come for those, who believe in the Second Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ in 1843, to show their faith by their works. {June 1, 1842 JVHe, HST 69.7}

Third Angel’s Message (10/22/1844 – )

A part of the third angel's message is – "Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God,” We know that the saints' patient waiting time has been since their disappointment in 1844. – Well here it is, and we all know it. We cannot be mistaken here. We know then that the time for this third message is now. We know also that the time for keeping all the commandments right has been since 1844, since God called us out of Babylon. {1850 JW, TTAM 11.3}
