Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, a Reform congregation serving members throughout the area, offers a warm and caring atmosphere for all who enter its doors. Referred to as TBJ, we are a place where families find a wide variety of religious, edu-cational, and social activities for every generation.

The Rabbi Barry H. Greene Early Childhood Center offers pre-school programs beginning with MSW-facilitated support groups for mothers and infants through a full-day kindergarten program. Camp TBJ provides summer fun for the 16-month-old to those in kindergarten.

Students in the B’nai Jeshurun Religious School from kindergarten through 12th grade are taught an understanding of Reform Jewish, tradition, philosophy and prac-tice, and love of the Land of Israel. The adult study programs include weekly Torah Study, Melton, Hebrew, and clergy-taught classes.

B’nai Jeshurun’s commitment to social justice is expressed in many ways through its tikun olam programs. TBJ is a participating member of the Interfaith Hospitality Network, has an ongoing commitment to the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges, and regularly provides lunches to Bridges Outreach, Inc.

From JEwiSh oBSErvAncE to Jewish holidays, from babies to b’nei mitzva, Chai Judaica is a unique experience for all things Judaica.

“We offer items that bring the beauty of Judaism into people’s homes, hearts, and minds,” says Rabbi Mendy Bogomilsky, who runs the Millburn shop with his wife, Rivkie. “In our new store we’ve created a warm and inviting experience for the local Jewish commu-nity.”

Inside are an abundance of talitot, ketubot, chumashim, siddurim, and other books on Jewish topics, challa cov-ers, candlesticks, Havdala sets, Torah pointers, and even wedding huppot which you can rent. There are hamsas, mezuzot, challa boards, seder plates, menoras, and Kiddush cups.

“Whether your family is traditional or contemporary, Chai Judaica has something which will add meaning to your home and life,” says Rivkie. Both the rabbi and Rivkie say their favorite part of the job is “having the opportunity to connect with members of all the different congregations in the area and especially unaffiliated community members who are in need of a little extra spiritual support.”

The rabbi is spiritual leader of the Chai Center, a Chabad congregation in Short Hills. Visitors to the store are often amazed at how the rabbi is always willing to share a little Jew-ish knowledge. Everyone is welcome to join his classes on Jewish holidays, Torah portions, Jewish ritual, philosophy, and Kabbala. Chai Judaica has been serving the community since 1994, originally in downtown Short Hills, and since February, at their new location in downtown Millburn.
