There are three main events to any wedding. Most brides will have three very different outfits for three very different occasions. The following pattern is the most common.

Registry DayColors most commonly worn for the

registry are White, Ivory, and any pastel shade. Usually teamed up with lots of diamonds and crystal.

Most brides will be having the ceremony at the local registry office. This usually takes place during the day. Therefore it is vital that the make up that is applied to not too heavy.

Foundation should be kept light and make the face look fresh. Eyes should be kept light also with just a touch of light liner and mascara. False eyelashes are very effective for this kind of look.

A light shimmer on the cheeks and a nude or very pale lip color topped off with a gloss. A good look for the hair would be all swept up onto the head and loose curls and to top it all of a tiara would set off the whole look.

The Wedding DayThe traditional red, white gold,

burgundy sari or lengha complimented by traditional bridal jewellery.

The wedding day however is usually kept quite traditional. The usual colors tend to be reds, whites and a lot of gold. Foundation should be a clean matte finish and emphasis should be on the eyes and lips. For this day reds and gold for the eyes and lips would be more effective. Please make sure that all eye make up and lips colors match with the outfit.

Also bindis will add to the effect of the overall look. Hair for the wedding day should be kept simple as most of it would be covered with a duppatta. If the dupatta is heavy then a solid base for the duppatta is vital to keep it on the head.

The ReceptionAny color can be worn for the

reception. This is where the fun begins. Receptions are usually during the evening so this is the point anything goes. Foundation can normally be heavier and also slightly shimmery.

Eyes can be matched with the color of the outfit. Eye make up should generally be heavier as this is an evening look so should be more dramatic. Glitter eye liner can also give very glamorous look. Cheeks can be slightly glittery also. Lips tend to be darker and glossy.

Hair should be something that the bride feels comfortable with. Open

hair with a matching tiara or hair accessories can be very effective.

Like they say “Its time to let your hair down and enjoy the party. By this point the bride has been though a life changing experience.

The perfect look can mean a lifetime of great memories of the biggest day in you life.

A Bride’s Big Day

Shrouded by the plethora of ceremonies and rituals that mark an Indian Wedding, the work of a Wedding photographer becomes much more challenging and unpredictable. The diversity in customs and conventions from one wedding to another paves way for a need to get acquainted with commonalities of Indian Weddings, so as to not miss the crucial events

Your wedding photographs are a unique record of one of the most significant days of your life. Why take a chance with your precious memories by selecting the services of an unqualified “photographer”?

A few simple suggestions to keep in mind while wedding preparations are underway

1. Meet and plan with your Photographer

Might sound silly, but in some occasions at Indian weddings you could end up meeting the couple for the first time on the day of the wedding shoot. A quick meeting earlier will help set the expectations, plan shots with the couple & get them in the comfort zone and build a relationship should be the order. This would make it easy on the

D-day knowing all finer details were worked out and planned.

2. Planned Shots It is extremely difficult to get

exclusive time with the couple during the wedding for pictures with so much attention all around and hence you would have to get most of your shots as the event is happening. Therefore, always plan a window of quality time with the photographer to get some great shots done prior to actual wedding. Make good use of it! Ensure to schedule the planned shots before the wedding no matter what anyone says and you are running late for this is the only opportunity you will get.

3. Photography Co-ordinatorWell before the wedding, ask the

couple to nominate a family member who would help the photographer. Even in the “small” Indian wedding, you can end up with hundreds of “close” family thronging to be in proximity to the couple, hence creating a framing catastrophe. You definitely would need the photo co-ordinator to introduce you to the close family members who ought to be covered in the photographs

and also help in getting you to the Bride and Groom on the day of the wedding. A co-ordinator would come extremely handy in handling crowd whilst the photographer is busy taking pictures.

4. Know your Wedding ProcessAs mentioned earlier, each Indian

wedding is unique in its own way. Speak to the Photographer and your family well in advance and understand the wedding process, the events, and their importance. In Indian weddings, the photographer is expected to capture certain specific moments of the event. If caught unaware, you might end up missing key moments.

5. Family PhotosIronically, you have to be careful

with “Family” pictures in Indian

weddings. Every one amongst the hundreds that make it to the wedding consider themselves close to the couple and would expect a standard flat “happy” picture with the couple. Plan well ahead with the couple on family group pictures and make use of a family member to help you here. Else, you would end up shooting hundreds of photographs.

So allocate groups well in advance and poses you want taken.

Traditional Thai Massage is a 2500-year-old technique for relaxing the body and quietening the mind. It can help to relieve many physical problems such as back pain, tense shoulders and neck, stiffness, poor posture, indigestion and sciatica as well as more mental problems like stress and lethargy.

Real Thai Massage soothes, cleanses and energises the body:Because authentic Thai Massage treats the whole body in a holistic way (physically, emotionally and spiritually), an all-encompassing sense of well-being can be achieved.

Physically - Thai Massage alleviates stress, tension and pain and releases harmful toxin build-up. Muscles and joints feel freed and invigorated.

Emotionally - Thai Massage clears the

channels that supply natural energy flow to the body. This leads to sense of calm, fulfilment and clarity of thought.

Spiritually - By slowing your thoughts and relieving tension, pain or tiredness, Thai Massage reconnects you with your strong and reflective inner self.

Thai Yoga MassageThai massage is also known as Yoga massage which works to clear energy blockages and restore balance and harmony in the body. The practice combines typical western therapy including myofascial release and trigger pain release with light stretches similar to that of yoga. This helps to strengthen the body and increase flexibility.

Thai Aromatherapy MassageThis is one of the most popular massage therapies. Aromatherapy is the art of

using natural plant essences to relax and balance the body by blending essential oils of plants into massage oil to enhance healing effects on a holistic basis.

Thai Feet ReflexologyReflexology is the massage of the feet using pressure points to stimulate nerve endings and energy flow throughout the body. By massaging points that reflect different internal organs, muscles and joints, the therapist encourages the body natural regeneration.

Hot Stone MassageAnother form of massage by placing hot stones on the body. The heat from the stones release the tensions built in all the joints and increase blood flow which then revitalises all the organs with a sense of well being.

Online matchmaking is arguably the best option for finding life partners these days. One can arrange his or her own love marriage! It might not be the perfect way, but then which one is? Here are some positive as well as negative lessons learnt from online matchmaking.

1. An Accountant? How boring! He likes sports only? Not my type! His idea of marriage is having lots of kids? Huh! No way. Ah! This one is a Scientist, likes movies and classical music. And his idea of marriage is everlasting bond of love! He sounds nice and interesting! I am definitely going to reply to his mail.

You do not have to entertain each and every guy who shows interest in you. You can read their profiles and decide whether you are interested or not.

2. It is so peaceful! No over-enthusiastic relatives to take your ‘interview’. Just you and your partner, mailing and chatting about everything you want to know about each other.

The biggest advantage - you have your privacy. No group discussions with fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts. Simply one to one

3. I can never talk to a guy openly in the first meeting. I am a very shy person. No wonder, the previous guys whom I met, never got back with a proposal. But mailing and chatting seemed to work ideally for me. I told him everything about myself and got to know everything I wanted to know about him. And then when we met. It never felt like a first meeting. I was so comfortable talking to him!

Online sites are an amazing option for shy/timid people to find life partners of their choice.

4. You know everything about him! He was absolutely frank and forthcoming. You too have told him everything about yourself, even things you would’ve otherwise felt awkward about telling him in person.

Since you were exchanging mails or chatting, you could ask each other every detail, without feeling awkward, which would’ve been pretty uncomfortable if you would’ve met in person.

5. Wow, he looks stunning, especially in that picture when he was wearing a blazer. You are dying to meet him, but uh-ho, when you actually see him in person, well... how you wished that love actually was blind!

Never expect the person to look as good as he does in his photographs.

6. When he said he is adventurous, he meant he likes sitting at home and watch James Bond. When he said he loves dressing you must not have imagined in your wildest dreams that Govinda is his idol!

Very often what a person says, what he means and what you understand are three different things.

Marriage Matters Learn from online matchmaking
