about usWe are Mike and Amanda! We began our relationship 13 years ago and have been married for 7 wonderful years. We vaguely knew each other in high school but never dated. We ran into each other after we graduated and Mike asked Amanda out on a date. We had an immediate connection and fell in love very quickly. We can honestly say we have fell more and more in love the longer we have been together. We have a wonderful life together and are thankful for all that we have been blessed with. However, we dream of having a family.

We are always laughing and absolutely love being together. We are always looking for new experiences and adventures. We enjoy spending time on our boat with our family and friends in the summer. We have gone on many trips and we have seen so many once-in-a-lifetime things. We also enjoy snowmobiling, going to dinner with friends, and just being home sharing time together. All of our passions are something we are so excited to share with our child as we grow together as a family.

We also enjoy spending time with our two adorable dogs Henry and Gracie, who are the sweetest most hilarious dogs you could ever meet.

Our marriage is strengthened daily. Everything life has given us (good and bad), we always take on together and know we will come out stronger. We feel as though we can get through anything as long as we have each other. Our devotion to our marriage and our faith in God has molded our relationship and has made us who we are today. We are looking forward to sharing our love with a child and creating a strong family built around these morals and values.

Written by Amanda: Mike is truly the “rock” and the “steady hand” of our family. He is the one everyone calls if they need help because they know he will be there (obviously myself included). He just loves helping people. He is going to be a fantastic dad. He’s insanely smart and can fi x just about anything. He is always pushing me to try new things and live life to the fullest. He never forgets to tell me he loves me every single day. He is all about hugs and kisses and just has the biggest heart. Mike is my best friend in the whole world and I am so lucky to have him.

Written by Michael: I am extremely blessed to have Amanda as my loving wife and best friend. She cares so much about others and is always working hard to make others feel important, needed, and beautiful. She is the structured planner and I am the just “wing it” one in our lives. She is so supportive and always there for me as I know she will be there for our child. Amanda is extremely funny and always smiling. I love that she is always down for a new adventure and willing to try new things even if it is out of her comfort zone. Her huge and loving heart is going to make the best mother I can imagine, and I am looking forward to raising the child we have prayed about for so many years.

We moved into our home in 2013. We completely renovated it ourselves (Mike is the handyman and Amanda is the creative one). We have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our home is in the country in a very safe and peaceful area. “Town” is where there are grocery stores, a few restaurants, beautiful metro-parks, and a brand new school. We are about a 20 minute drive to the nearest city. Our school system is very highly ranked and has the latest technology and curriculum. We enjoy hanging out on our deck, spending time with family, and taking our dogs for walks at the park. We love our home and our neighborhood very much and cannot wait to share it with our child.

We are both very close to our families. They have been the backbone of support throughout this entire journey. When we fi rst announced we were adopting at a family gathering, everybody cried tears of joy. They all cannot wait to see our family grow and watch us share the love we have in our hearts with our child. They all knew from the very beginning that we would eventually be “Mommy and Daddy” to a special little miracle. Now our families are excited that this day has fi nally come! They look forward to sharing our joy as we raise our child in faith and love.

We also have a huge group of friends that we consider family. We are both still extremely close to many friends we have known since we were very young. We have lots of close friendships with families where we dock our boat, many have young children too. We are excited to make memories together. Our friends are wonderful, supportive people who would do anything for us. Every time we talk to them, their fi rst question is “any news on the adoption!!?”
