Configuring Migration of Settings to SAP Extended Warehouse Management

You use this process to configure the settings needed to migrate values from Warehouse Management to SAP Extended Warehouse Management.

Prerequisites

If the client settings require a customizing transport request, you have created a customizing transport request in SAP Extended Warehouse Management.

Process

1. Configuration of Mapping Rules [Page 7]

2. Creating Local Folders for Mapping Files [Page 12]

3. Configuring Security Settings [Page 13]

4. Configuring Unicode Settings [Page 14]

Result

You have configured the settings for migrating values from Warehouse Management to SAP EWM. You can now migrate your specific settings to SAP EWM.

SAP Library 28.01.2013

Migration of SAP ERP WM to SAP EWM 2012_SP35 7

Configuration of Mapping Rules

You use this process to create mapping rules. The migration tool requires mapping rules to allow it to determine how the values from SAP ERP are mapped and named when creating the download files. This conversion must take place before the data is ready for upload into SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). In order for the data to be created correctly in the download file, mapping rule data must be available at the time the download file is generated. The system uses the mapping data to build the download file from Warehouse Management (ECC-WM) before it is uploaded into SAP EWM. All of the mapping rules tables must be maintained before the report generates any download files. This is a mandatory step for the execution of the migration report.

Process

1. Creating Mapping of Storage Types [Page 8]

2. Creating Mapping of Picking Areas to Activity Areas [Page 9]

3. Creating Mapping of Storage Unit Types [Page 10]

4. Creating Mapping of Movement Types to Process Types [Page 11]

Result

You have created the mapping rules for the storage types, picking areas, storage unit types, and movement types.

SAP Library 28.01.2013

Migration of SAP ERP WM to SAP EWM 2012_SP35 8

Creating Mapping of Storage Types

You use this procedure to set up the mapping of Warehouse Management storage type names to EWM storage type names.

Procedure

1. In Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management, choose Interfaces

Migration from LE-WM Define Mapping Rule: WM Storage Type to EWM Storage

Type .

2. Enter the required data. The table has the following format:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP Storage Type

Warehouse Number

Storage Type

... ... ... ... ...

Example

The following table shows some examples of entries the mapping table:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP Storage Type

Warehouse Number

Storage Type

RD5CLNT002 Y01 *** Y001 Z***

RD5CLNT002 Y01 D01 Y001 D001

The first entry offers the option to map storage type generically. In this entry, for every storage type that does not have a specific entry in the mapping table, the system adds a Z as a prefix

to the ERP storage type. For example: ERP storage type D02 becomes EWM storage type

ZD01.

The second entry is an example of a direct mapping of a particular storage type, D01, to a

specific EWM storage type, D001.

EWM storage types 9010, 9020, 9030, and 9040 are reserved for staging areas. Do not use

them as EWM storage types in the mapping. For more information, see Configuring Staging Area Bays in EWM [Page 34].

More Information

After you have downloaded the Storage Types from SAP ERP and uploaded them to SAP EWM, the system provides the result of migration rule evaluation in Customizing for Extended

Warehouse Management under Interfaces Migration from LE-WM Map LE-WM Storage

Type to EWM Storage Type . These entries are the basis for proceeding with further migration steps and are mandatory.

SAP Library 28.01.2013

Migration of SAP ERP WM to SAP EWM 2012_SP35 9

Creating Mapping of Picking Areas to Activity Areas

You use this process to set up the mapping of Warehouse Management picking areas to EWM activity area names

Procedure

1. In Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management, choose Interfaces

Migration from LE-WM Define Mapping Rule: WM Picking Area to EWM Activity

Area .

2. Enter the required data. The mapping table has the following format:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP Storage Type

Picking Area

Warehouse Number

Activity Area

... ... ... ... ... ...

Before the migration, check the mapping tables and the naming convention used. Use a different naming convention for the activity areas than the naming convention of the activity areas used for the storage type. As wildcard entries are not allowed in this mapping file, you must specify the ERP picking areas to be mapped to specific EWM activity areas.

Example

The following table shows some examples of entries the mapping table:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP Storage Type

Picking Area

Warehouse Number

Activity Area

RD5CLNT002 Y01 D01 YN1 Y001 D011

RD5CLNT002 Y01 D02 YN2 Y001 D021

SAP Library 28.01.2013

Migration of SAP ERP WM to SAP EWM 2012_SP35 10

Creating Mapping of Storage Unit Types

You use this procedure to set up the mapping of Warehouse Management storage unit types to EWM handling unit types.

Procedure

1. In Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management, choose Interfaces

Migration from LE-WM Define Mapping Rule: WM Storage Unit Type to EWM

Handling Unit Type .

2. Enter the required data. The table has the following format:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP SU Type

Warehouse Number

HU Type

... ... ... ... ...

Example

The following table shows some examples of entries the mapping table:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP SU Type

Warehouse Number

HU Type

RD5CLNT002 Y01 *** Y001 Y***

RD5CLNT002 Y01 WE1 Y001 WWE1

The first entry in the table offers the option to map storage unit types generically. In this entry, for every storage unit type that does not have a specific entry in the mapping table, the system adds a Y as a prefix to the ERP storage unit type. For example, ERP storage unit type

WE2 becomes EWM handling unit type YWE2.

The second entry is an example of a direct mapping of a particular storage unit type, WE1, to

the EWM handling unit type WWE1.

SAP Library 28.01.2013

Migration of SAP ERP WM to SAP EWM 2012_SP35 11

Creating Mapping of Movement Types to Process Types

You use this procedure to set up the mapping of Warehouse Management movement types to EWM process types.

Procedure

1. In Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management, choose Interfaces

Migration from LE-WM Define Mapping Rule: WM Movement Type to Warehouse

Process Type .

2. Enter the required data. The table has the following format:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP Movement Type

Warehouse Number

Process Type

... ... ... ... ...

EWM process types 1010, 2010, P112, P310, P340, P350, P420, P910, and P999

are reserved for copying standard process types. Do not use them as EWM process types in the mapping rules table. For more information, see Migrating Cross Process Settings [Page 51].

Example

The following table shows some examples of entries the mapping table:

Business System

ERP Warehouse Number

ERP Movement Type

Warehouse Number

Process Type

RD5CLNT002 Y01 *** Y001 ***0

RD5CLNT002 Y01 WE1 Y001 WWE1

The first entry in the table offers the option to map movement types generically. In this entry, for every movement type that does not have a specific entry in the mapping table, the system

adds a 0 as a suffix to the ERP movement type. For example, ERP movement type 102

becomes EWM process type 1020.

The second entry is an example of a direct mapping of a particular movement type, WE1, to

the EWM process type WWE1.
