    Background

Roble Shipping, Inc. was established on February 20, 1985, by the

patriarch, Jose Roble. It started operations in July 1985 with a small

cargo vessel named M/V Marao which sailed from Cebu to Iloilo

transporting rice and mixed cargo materials. The shipping business

was organized as support to the familys arrastre and stevedoring

company, Puerto Servicio de Cebu, Inc. (PSDCI), established in 1972

which remains in operation to date. However, in the early 1990s with

the mandate of Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) for the integration of

all existing arrastre and stevedoring firms, Sps. Roble was constrained

to integrate PSDCI with other firms. To date, PSDCI is equally owned

by 5 shareholders: Roble family, Araneta family, Brojan family (owns

Fortune Sea Carrier), Palacio family (owns Palacio Shipping) and

Jarque family (owns Jones Carrier). At present, company has a fleet of

    18 vessels (7 RoRo/passenger/cargo vessels, 1 cargo/passenger

vessel, 1 passenger vessel, 6 cargo vessels and 1 service/tug). Please

see attached list of companys fleet of vessels. Roble Shipping, Inc. is

a closed corporation of the Roble family. The matriarch, Beatriz, 66

years old, has the controlling interest with 39.1875% shares. Her 7

children (Jose Emery, Jay, Jasper, Jupiter, Jhufel, Betchie and Belinda)

each has 8.6875% ownership. After the death of Jose Roble on

September 11, 2009, Beatriz took over the management of the

business with the support of her children. Beatriz Roble is still actively

involved in the business. Major decisions still rest on her being the

companys Chairman and President. She is assisted by her children:

Jose Emery, 47 years old (VP/Operations), Jupiter, 38 years old

    (VP/Finance), Jasper, 37 years old (VP/Engineering), Jhufel, 38 years

old (Port Operations Officer) and Betchie R. Manatad, 33 years old

(Cash Division Officer). The two other children, Jay, who has his own

Petron distribution business and Jhufel, who is based in the U.S.A., are

not involved in Roble Shipping, Inc.

    REVENUE CYCLE

    For Passengers

Passenger pays for the ticket, the ticketing booth receives

payment and the supervisor checks the amount of payment to match

to the ticket bought. Once affirmed the passenger receives the

ticket and proceeds to the waiting area. The cash now received will

be held until the night when they bring it to the cash division. The cash

division then counts all the money received and matches it to all

the tickets sold. Once they are verified and matched the money is then

    deposited to the bank.

    For Cargo

A company files a form for shipment and consignment of goods. Robles

shipping lines then reviews the order and processes a certain sum for

the goods that are to be shipped. Once finished, Robles Shipping lines

receive the payment, which is then checked by a supervisor to be

matched to the shipment being paid for. Once matched, the cash

division counts all the money received and matches it to all the tickets

sold. Once they are verified and matched the money is then deposited

to the bank. Once the goods have arrived to their dock, the supervisor

checks the bill of lading and sees to it that the goods that have arrived

are the same goods that were shipped. Once finished reviewing, the
