Coffee County Conference Center— Manchester, TN

The Middle Tennessee Artists will be hosting their 32nd retreat on February 21-24, 2019. Please read through bro-chure because there have been some changes from previ-ous years.

Registration fees: Thursday—Sunday $125.00*

Non Members $140.00*

Friday—Sunday $115.00*

Non Members $130.00*

You must be registered to attend classes, meals and any other weekend activity. Your registration fee will include dinner on Thursday, lunch and dinner on Friday and lunch and dinner on Saturday, with lunch on Sunday. You may also buy a box lunch for Thursday if you wish. This box lunch will be $10.00 addition to registration fee.

Members who have dietetic needs will be adding a one-time $5.00 fee for this service. You will need to let us know what your needs are and pay at the time of registration. We will never serve fish, grapefruit, coconut, or peanuts. List any other needs that you have.

Room Reservations

You are responsible for making your own room res-ervations at the Holiday Inn Express Manchester, TN which is connected to the Coffee County Conference Center (931-728-9383) We have a block of rooms reserved under MTA. You will have a continental breakfast with the hotel each morning. There is also an indoor pool, hot-tub and small exercise room. Remember to use MTA code when registering.

Conference Center

We are very fortunate to have a great facility like the Coffee County Conference Center for our retreat. As a requirement of our contract we need to follow their guidelines. No alcoholic beverages of any kind are allowed in the center, keep the floor clean of paint related items (so no one trips) and clean up spills promptly. Dis-

pose of paint water in buckets, not commode or sink. Please do not tape any item to door fac-ings and get approved tape for things on walls. Do not spray any sealers inside building , on porches or sidewalks. If you must spray go to back of the parking lot and spray there.

Paint Room

Please allow us to set up room before you start

to bring in items. Do not mark your place. The

room will open at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The

room will open every other morning at 7:30 am

and close at 11:00 p.m. Bring your normal

painting supplies along with what is needed for

any class. Garbage bags will be provided. Dump

this bag as needed or ask any committee mem-

ber for a new one. Carts, wagons and large box-

es must be removed from room (take to your

car or room) or stored under MITI tables. This

is to help with overcrowding of room.

Art Show

The art show is open to all registered retreat guests. The following rules apply.

1. All entries must have a Safari Animal as part of the design.

2. You may paint in any medium you wish. You may enter one in each category if you wish.

3. Enter your items from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. You may enter until noon on Sat-urday. Winners will be announced at dinner on Saturday night.

4. A numbered tag will be given to all that enter. All visible signatures will be covered.

5. You may enter in the following categories:

- Oil - Water Color - China Painting

- Acrylic - Pen and Ink - Pencils

- Multi Media - Fabric Paint

6. You must furnish an easel for any hanging projects or canvas.

Make-It-Take-It Info Selling Make-It-Take-It Projects – Everyone is encouraged to bring make-it-take-it pro-

jects. Everyone enjoys these projects at the retreat. You may bring as many as you wish.

Each different project is $3.00 each. You will pay this with your registration. You must

have a painted sample, written instructions, line drawings, and a colored photo. Along with surface you will

supply any extras that it takes to complete the project. (wire, paint, glue, string, eye screws, ribbon, etc.)

Place an envelope with your name and cost of project. Please collect your money each evening. No mark-

downs until Sunday morning.

Purchasing Make-It-Take-It Projects - Place your money in the envelope provided with the project at the

time of purchase. Do not take anything from the table prior to paying as you may be sidetracked by some-

one, Take your palette with you to the make-it-table-it table to get your paint. Do not take paint away from

table. Do not remove sample from table.

Sales Tables Tables will be for rent for $5. This will be paid for with

your registration. You may rent only one table. You may

bring any paint related items (as much as you can fit on

table). You may place them on the floor, however they

are harder to see. All items must be priced and an enve-

lope (with your name on it) on the table. Do not put any

“Free” items on your sales table. We will provide a table

for that. Do not mark items down until Sunday morning.

Sales No items, other than make-it-take-it projects and sales

table, or a class related item sold by the teacher, may be

sold at retreat without renting a sales table.

Door Prizes

Door prizes will be given at each meal. The com-

mittee has been able to purchase the door prizes

this year. We will have secret pals this year. If

you wish to participate please fill out and mail in

form within this brochure.

Devotions

Prayer will be given before each meal. A time for

devotions is scheduled for Sunday morning for

those who wish to attend. Time and place to be

announced.
