The Parent Scholar Portal (PSP) is the hub to Compass Charter Schools.

What to Expect This Year- StrongMind

To load your virtual classroom, click on the desired course, and then click “Launch Course”.

To view your teacher’s contact information, click on their name underneath the course title on the course dashboard.

Your teachers will keep in contact with you through the Message Center. Click “Message Center” in the left menu to view and reply to messages.

What is MyCompass?1. An Orientation to the new StrongMind platform2. A course that will help you become familiar with not only success in the online classroom, but

personal success as well.3. You will learn how to use and navigate online courses4. You will complete your Activity and PE logs5. You will be provided with the tools and information needed to be successful at CCS!

Next Generation Science Standards

● This year, we will be rolling out

the NGSS Integrated model

● Scholars will see cross-cutting

concepts for the different science

disciplines across all three grade

levels: Earth and Space,

Physical Science, Life Science,

and Engineering

they will be presented in very

different modalities

The Role of Your Middle School Counselor

Our Comprehensive School Counseling Program provides school

counselors who...

• Focus on academic, social/emotional, and college/career

awareness skills

• Collaborate with school staff, parents and the community to create

a safe and respectful virtual learning environment whereby young

adolescents can maximize personal and academic achievement.

• Support scholars to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire

positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and

realize full academic potential to become productive, contributing

members of the world community.

Special Education Department1. Our Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) is provided in a virtual online

setting using tools as Adobe Connect, GoToMeeting, or other online

applications.

2. IEP services for Speech, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and

Psychological Services often referred to as related services are provided by

specialized contractors and these services are provided virtually.

Field Trips & Enrichment Events

★ Use the same password to view event details as used for the “Parents & Scholars” section of the website

★ Able to use the different categories to filter for events that apply to your family

★ Please note that no scholar may attend a Field Trip hosted by Compass Charter Schools unless accompanied

by a parent, guardian, or legal adult. No exceptions are possible for this rule.

★ Some activities are at no cost for the participants to join - scholar, siblings and attending adults! For activities

that require payment - all scholars will attend for $0! Attending adults, siblings and guests are able to join at our

discounted group rate by pre-paying at the time of sign up via the link on the calendar item.

★ All pre-payments are non-refundable. Please take note of all event details at the time of sign up. An email with

reminders will be sent out to all who register by the posted deadline for event registration.

★ Please note that whether or not an event requires pre-payment - Anyone who attends a field trip or enrichment

event that is under the age of 18 must have a permission slip submitted. Permission slips are submitted

virtually at the time of registration with our virtual registration form..

● 7th to 9th Grade Only - Catalina Island Marine Institute Overnight Trip○ October 16th to 18th, $130 per scholar - normally $260 but subsidized by CCS, departing from Long Beach (price

includes the boat ride to and from Long Beach and Catalina Island, 3 meals a day, lodging and all activities)

○ Only 15 spots available for scholars - be sure to register on or before August 31st by following the information on

our website calendar for this event - https://www.compasscharters.org/event/cimi-field-trip-2017/
