Right smack dab in the middle of the BCC this year we had some major construction! It was right beside the class room too, but we pushed on. As well, it gave me the chance to get out of the class room and do some good ole fashion manual labor. We were able to build a new office to facilitate business leaders from the city, to get involved in the ship ministry! I really do love working with my hands but don’t worry, I am not quitting the BCC any time soon...

Bible Course Completed! The Bible school that I have been pioneering here is starting to get a foothold in the

ministry. For the past two years we have been running the 6 month course for young

missionaries who want to have tools to understand the Bible... and with these tools, the

hope that they may accurately share God’s Word to the world in their calling. In case

you forget, we focus on using both the literary and historical context of the scriptures to

interpret it safely. We also believe that the Bible really is for everyone, but know that it

can be intimidating for some, so we really walk them along in the process of bringing

the Bible to life in their eyes.

This year our two students were from completely different backgrounds, but

incidentally from the same city. Chelsea and Kelsey from Calgary in Canada, what a

mouthful, had polar opposite experiences with God’s Word coming into the school. By

the end of the course, both had grown in love and understanding of the Bible.

We studied 14 books, one from each genre of literature found in the Bible, and then

went on a 6 week outreach. As a team of 2 staff and 2 students we were able to take a

seminar from the book of Amos on the road for other self supporting missionaries in

Australia at no cost to them. Not only we we able to help articulate God’s heart on

issues such as social injustice and idolatry, but we were also able to teach in public

schools on the message of Jesus! During our time on the road we taught in several

schools about Jesus calling us to live a life bigger than

ourselves, and devoting it only to him. Not to mention

other opportunities in youth groups along the way. All in

all it was an incredible time. As a result of the course I am

very proud to say that both students are going on to full

time missions. Kelsey is coming back to work in Bible

teaching, and Chelsea is planning to use her skills in the

area of health care in PNG. Thank you for helping

support me, and for making it possible for me to be an

agent of change for our God and His Kingdom!!

Experiencing the M/V Pacific Link

It was a crazy hectic day leading up to boarding out

medical ship. Once we set sail, and I got over my fever..., we

had such an incredible time traveling up the coast of Australia

gathering supplies and volunteer for our upcoming outreach in

Papua New Guinea. I am happy to say that we

have gathered over 9,000 pair of glasses so far that

are ready to be given out. We will also be

offering dental and opthamological treatment

to those with out access in PNG. To give

you an idea there is only 1 dentist for every

200,000 people in the whole nation!

Sailing up the coast of Australia with a message of life!

Growing Interest in the Bible! It has been a long road to hoe in the great “Down Under”

so to speak. With only 4 students on our first school and 2 on the last it would have been easy to get discouraged. Outside of the course, I have also been doing a lot of teaching for out entry

level course in missions training. This seems to be starting to pay off. There is a buzz of excitement around the center of inquiry for the next school in January 2011. I am hoping for 16

students, and 4 other staff to go on this Journey of experiencing God’s Word, and taking it to the nations. Praise God for all that he is doing, both in and through me, and in and through the

school!

Dating in Missions?I have met a young lady down here in the land of Aus.

Here Name is Renee, and you guessed it she is an Australian. I met her last year in August upon my return to the base. It

wasn’t long after that I began praying about my attraction for Renee as well as God’s confirmation that this was right in Him. It is now July, and we have been continuing to develop our

relationship over the course of this year. Our heart is to continue to pursue God’s call on our lives,

and to keep submitting both our futures and our relationship to

Him. I would really appreciate your prayers on this area as I continue to learn what it means to pursue a romantic relationship while being a non wage earning missionary. May God’s will be done in and through me in everything.

Prayer Requests:• More Staff & Students for BCC = More Proclamation!

• My relationship with Renee

• My health isn’t great, but not terrible

• Our new Ship ministry here in Townsville

• Vision & Direction for the School and its Outreaches

• Hoping to attend a Leadership Conference in Oct
