    INTRODUCTION

Mahashakti Energy Limited, an ISO 9001 & ISO 14000 certified organization established in 1994 as an

insulated and non-insulated manufacturing unit with ACSR, AAC conductors, cables & double paper

covered wire (DPC) as its major products. In the process of forward integration and diversification product

line, it began manufacturing of distribution transformers & electronic energy meters in1997 & 2000

    respectively.

In the process of forward integration and diversification product line, it began manufacturing of distribution

    transformers & electronic energy meters in1997 & 2000 respectively.

With the growing trends in power sector the company also diversified itself in to engineering procurement

and construction(EPC) & exacting business for rural electrification of villages. export is another thrust area

    for the company.

The Products are being regularly exported to the African& idle east countries to meet their ever expanding

    infrastructure and power needs.

An installed capacity of 2500 MVA for transformers & 600000 no. of electronic energy meter meets our

customer requirements within a short span of time.

Annual turnover for year 2010-11 is $48 million and the endeavour is to touch US$67 million turnover for

    year 2011-12.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Many individual have proudly influenced me during my industrial training of B.TECH at MAHASHAKTI

ENERGY LIMITED, BATHINDA and it is pleasure to acknowledge their guidance and support. In

MAHASHAKTI, I learned many things, like, the project training is mainly aimed at enabling the student to

apply their theoretical knowledge to practical as "The theory is to know how and practical to do how" and to

appreciate the limitation of knowledge gained in the class room to practical situation and to appreciate the

importance of discipline, punctuality, team work, sense of responsibility, money, value of time, dignity of

labor. It was a very good and new experience of training because all the things I studied in books were totally

    different in practical work.

I would like to express my gratitude towards Er. Ravi Sharma who took keen interest in my training, who

helped me in every possible way and is source of inspiration for all the group members.

    MAIN PROJECT

My main project of training on which i am working is Transformer. As we know a transformer is a static

electrical device that transfers energy by inductive couplingbetween its winding circuits. A varying current

in the primary winding creates a varying magnetic flux in the transformer's core and thus a varying magnetic

flux through the secondary winding. This varying magnetic flux induces a varying electromotive force (emf)

    orvoltage in the secondary winding.

Transformers range in size from thumbnail-sized units hidden inside microphones to units weighing

hundreds of tons interconnecting the power grid. A wide range of transformer designs are used in electronic

and electric power applications. Transformers are essential for the transmission, distribution, and utilization

    ofelectrical energy.

MAHSHAKTI has pioneered itself into manufacturing ofPower Transformers. With in house research,

design &manufacturing facilities we produce best quality Power Transformers.

System that ensures quality products and services to total satisfaction of the customer.

Power Transformers enhances the productivity as well as maximizes the capacity level of the high power

supply equipments. These are ultimate for the regular power without any cut off. They are used for control

high voltage and frequency for the different systems. Power Transformers having the following standards:

They can assist three phases. There ratings are upto 2000 KVA.Its frequency is 50 hz and ONAN cooling.

Copper and aluminium winding material is used in this.Applicable Standards are IS, IEC, ANSI, JIS, etc.

It is sufficient for primary as well as secondary voltage.Mahashakti has pioneered itself in Power Transformers. Under the research, design, and manufacturing

facilities mahashakti provides the best quality Power Transformers.
