1. English Law commonly draws distinctions between advertisements for unilateral and bilateral contracts. .

Using suitable examples from case law, analyze this statement with reference to the formation of Contracts. [25]

Discuss the extent to which you agree with this statement and analyze the rules which determine the validity of the withdrawal of an offer? [25]

Section B

3. Ahmed’s car has been stolen .he places an advertisement in the evening standard news stating that a reward of 1,000 will be given to any person who provides information leading to the recovery of the car- provided the reward is claimed by 1 January, Zaman, a policeman finds the car, which has suffered sever accident .His best friend Asif tells him about the reward and

Andrews applies for it by letter on 30 December .the letter arrives at Ahmed’s house on 2 January.

Advice Zaman whether he has the contractual right to the reward? [25]

5. Mr. Angel and Mrs. Evil are planning to divorce .they have spent a married life in a house which they bought in joint names, with the help of a mortgage which has six years still to run. Mr. Angel and Mrs. Evil agree that Mr.Angel will move out and if Mrs .Evil meets the mortgage repayments for the next six years. Mr. Angel will, at the end of that time, transfer sole ownership of the house to her. Mrs. Evil pays the mortgage for a year Mr. Angel says that he has changed his mind, and does not intends to transfer his share of the house to her.

Advice Mrs. Evil, How, if at all would your advice differ, if Mr. Angel had changed his mind before Mrs. Devil had started paying the mortgage? [25]
