Good practices in Implementation
No poor performing district. (coverage of enrolled children between 80% to 89%)
E-transfer of funds.
Dedicated structure at all levels.
Issues – Identified by JRM
Engagement of lesser number of cook-cum-helpers than the norms in Ludhiana district.
Funds for reimbursement of cost of Unsubsidized LPG cylinders have not been released by the districts to implementing agencies.
Disruption in the serving of MDM in many schools in Ludhiana district due to non-availability of foodgrains in the month of May- July.
Medicines with expired dates were kept in First Aid Box in schools.
No or very little distribution of IFA, Vitamin-A tablets.
Best Practices
Storage bins for foodgrains and cooking ingredients.
Use of double fortified salt for preparation of MDM.
Every school has been provided soap for hand washing.
Contribution by community.
Availability of water filters in many schools. Provision of eating plates. Dedicated staff for MDM at State, District and Block
levels.
