On August 16, 2005, IBM Retail Store Solutions announced support for Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WEPOS) on select models of the IBM SurePOS 300 Series, 500 Series and 700 Series, IBM SurePOS 4694 and IBM SureOne. In addition, select models of the IBM Anyplace Kiosk are available with WEPOS preloaded and a 40 GB hard drive standard. By supporting WEPOS, IBM demonstrates its continuing commitment to open platforms, broad operating system support, and maximum choice for retailers. This version of Windows XP Embedded is designed with retail customers in mind, and is ideal for retailers who are committed to a Microsoft implementation. It is cost-effective, easy to use and features one image that supports virtually all of the configurations retailers need. To learn more about IBM support for WEPOS, please contact your IBM representative or visit the SurePOS and Anyplace Kiosk product portals
