Biking in Puerto Varas
Bike tours have since long became a trend. Therefore, we have recently added
a couple of excursions that start in Puerto Varas and involve cycling along the
Llanquihue Lake to either pay a visit to Playa Venado dairy farm, and continuing
onto Río Pescado, or the one to Chester Beer Brewery. Both available in private
and regular services.
Sundowner Tour
Our new additions to the excursions alternatives in Santiago are an
excellent way to relax and chill at the end of the day.

Our sundowner tours take our guests to visit the Nueva Costanera Neighborhood
in Vitacura, enjoy a stroll about the area, its galleries, park and sidewalks, a wine
sensory wine adventure at Vinolia, and dinner at Cuerovaca. The tour is available
with or without dinner.
Renewable Energy
In 2013, the Chilean government passed Law 20.698, or the “Non-Conventional
Renewable Energy Law”. Such law promotes all sources of clean energy, and
establishes Chile’s commitment to generate 20% of its electricity from
renewables by 2025. Following this path, in 2016 the largest photovoltaic plant
in Latin America opened in Vallenar, amidst Atacama Desert producing 500 GWh
of clean energy. Following that plan several have bloomed. One of them, El
Pelícano plant near Coquimbo, together with San Juan de Aceituno in
Antofagasta will generate power to move the Metro de Santiago (Santiago’s
underground train system), turning this mean of transportation into the first one
in the world operating with 60% of energy that comes from the sun and/or the
wind.
Along the same line, in the hotel industry, Tierra Atacama has applied a hybrid
photovoltaic/ diesel system that supplies a 100% of the energetic demand of their
complex during the day. The hotel located in the Atacama desert is not connected
to the electric grid, therefore the need to produce their own energy, originally with
diesel but gradually turning into solar since 2013. This effort has reduced their
carbon path as well as it has put them in the aim of the DENA (German Energy
Agency), entity that has rewarded them as a highly remarkable project and and
example for the industry.
