Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for Students
As a Rio Salado student, you can download Office 365 ProPlus for
free through the Microsoft Student
Advantage program. The software can be installed on up to five
computers (PCs or Macs) per student.
NOTE: The free subscription is available for active students who
are currently enrolled in a class at Rio
Salado or any of the Maricopa County Community Colleges.
Eligibility can be re-verified on a random basis,
and eligibility expires upon graduation or if you are no longer
enrolled at a Maricopa County Community
College. When the subscription expires, you will have limited
availability to the software; you will be able
to view documents but unable to edit or create new
documents.
Installation instructions and application information are
included below.

each installation package is included in the table below.

Installation Instructions Installation instructions for PCs and
Macs are provided below.
1. Go to https://login.microsoftonline.com/ and enter the
following information:
Username: Your Maricopa email address (i.e.
[email protected])
Password: Same password you use to log into your Maricopa email
account
NOTE: If you have just set up your MEID, it will take 24 hours
for your MEID to be activated. Please wait 24 hours after setting
up your MEID to access Office 365.
Click Sign in.
Username=Your Maricopa email address Password=Password you
use to log into your Maricopa email account.

2. This brings you to the installation screen. NOTE: Microsoft
highly recommends installing the 32-bit version, even if your
computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows. The installation
automatically defaults to the 32-bit version. Click here for more
information on which version to choose.
If you prefer to install the 64-bit version, click on the
Advanced link and select 64-bit from the dropdown.
You can also click on the Review system requirements link for
compatibility information.
If you encounter issues during the installation process, you can
click on the Learn how to troubleshoot your Office installation
link for further information.
a. When you are ready to proceed with installation, click
Install.
NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer and the download is
blocked, click on the message and select Download file.

NOTE: If you are using Chrome, you may need to locate the
download in the bottom left of your screen, click on the down
arrow, and select Open.
b. A message will appear, asking if you would like to run or
save the file. Select Run.
c. Another message may appear, asking if you would like to run
the software. Select Run.

d. When asked if you want the program to make changes to the
computer, select Yes.
IMPORTANT: Do not go offline or restart your computer until the
installation is complete. NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer,
you may need to click on the Office 365 icon in the bottom toolbar
to proceed to the next step.
3. A message will appear, welcoming you to Office 365. Click
Next.

4. The next message introduces you to OneDrive. Click Next.
5. The next message allows you to specify the background. Select
your preferred background and click Next.

6. The next message allows you to view an introduction to Office
365. Select Take a look or No,
thanks to proceed.
7. Next, you will reach a message stating that Microsoft is
wrapping things up and to stay online.
NOTE: There may also be a small box in the lower right side of
your screen that displays the progress of the installation.

8. Next, you will need to accept the Microsoft Office License
Agreement. After viewing the
agreement, click Accept.
9. You will know the installation is complete when you reach the
message stating that youre good to go. Click All done!

NOTE: If an Activate Office window appears, type your Maricopa
email address (i.e. [email protected]) in the email address field
and click Next.
The Sign In screen will appear next. The User ID field will
default to your Maricopa email address. Enter the password you use
to log into your Maricopa email account and click Sign in.

a. To view the progress of the installation, click on the
Downloads icon in the far right of the Safari tool bar.
This also displays the file name.
b. To locate the file, follow these steps: i. Click on the
Search icon in the Mac toolbar.
ii. Type the file name into the search field. iii. Double click
on the file.

6. A message stating that you must agree to the terms of the
software license agreement will appear. Click Agree.
7. Click Install.
8. Now the Welcome to Office: Mac message will display. Click
Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription.

11. The Settings options will display. Choose the option that
you would like and click Continue.
12. Answer questions regarding Mac updates and the Customer
Experience Improvement Program. It is recommended that you select
Yes to have updates download periodically. Click Continue.
