If micromax dont release jelly bean for A89, then xda memberscan edit A110 jb rom and make it for A89. Because both got samemt6577 processor and PowerVR SGX531. So sooner or later, wewill taste jelly bean a.k.a Android 4.1.

5. Use your phone normally (don't charge inbetween) till it hits 1%.

6. Then charge your phone UNINTERRUPTED(leave it for charging all night) till 100%.

7. Unplug and start using. You should be havingas little as 2-3% battery drain for 6-8 hours ofIDLING now. That's the optimization of acalibrated battery.

Extra Battery Saving Tips:

* Set ROTATION to OFF if you are not usingLandscape Mode at all.

I've actually seen people talking about heat up issue during charging . But I'm facing heating issue even during normal use andofcourse durin gaming. Is that also happening with you??

And btw I have already changed the internal to external. Just have to modify the sdcard to sdcard2 and vice versa butanyways thanks for uploading it. It'll help a lot of people.

Well i too have the same issue! This handset have three cons:1. bad battery backup2. heat up issue3. bad camera

well first 2 can be solved, but nothing can be done of 3rd issue :P

also i m trying to install v6 supercharger & beats+bravia right now on my phone :P

Battery backup and bad camera was quite expected and we knew about it before buying but the heating issue is so notrequired. Irritating really.

Proximity sensor prob!!

Hey guys i bought dis phone for my mom nd she is facing some issues with proximity sensor. whenever a call is made thescreen goes off coming near to a surface but then it doesn't turn on until the phone is cut off from other side. I tried rebootingand disabling fastboot option in setting>accessibilty...but still i cant find a permanent solution....plz help

Very strange really...I've seen a no. of people complaining about this but I'm not facing this problem whatsoever.


I am just feeling that I've found a way to fix the heating issue..But might also be just placebo effect. Can someone else try andconfirm??

MTK6577 Governor Switcher

Follow the instructions properly and change the governor to ondemand and don't forget to tick the 2nd core activation. youmay also try on hybrid governor.


Yes I'm pretty sure now that it's a definite fix to the problem. So the problem as it seems to me now is thateither the hybrid governor was causing the problem or else the 2nd core wasn't working which wascausing the 1st processor to heat up.. Heat now is almost negligible while normal use and and alot lesswhile gaming. Pretty much acceptable really.
