Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room to open third location in Auburn Hills

The founders of Michigan By The Bottle, a website/online community promoting the Michigan wine industry, have teamed up with 12 wineries from throughout the state to establish a third collaborative wine tasting room in Metro Detroit.

Located on Auburn, just west of N. Squirrel, in Auburn Hills’ newly renovated downtown district, Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room-Auburn Hills will open its doors to the public on Saturday, July 9.

A Media/VIP Open House is set for Tuesday, July 12, 7-9 p.m. We invite you to join us to learn more about us and our partner wineries while enjoying complimentary wine samples.

While regular business hours will begin July 9, an official Grand Opening Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, July 30, 12-10 p.m.

The tasting room offers wine tasting flights paired with small bites for a nominal fee, plus take-home wine sales by the bottle. The facility also carries various Michigan-made snacks and products, and will host events like wine education workshops, winemaker-led events, art exhibits, various themed parties, live music, Book & Bottle Club (MBTB’s own book club) and more.

With the opening of the original location in Shelby Township in December 2012, MBTB Tasting Room became the first such establishment in the state to embrace this collaborative concept, which links multiple previously unaffiliated wineries under a single roof. Both have been well-received by the surrounding communities, earning MBTB Hour Detroit’s “Best of Detroit” Wine Bar designation for 2014, 2015 and 2016.

At the Auburn Hills location, MBTB will be teamed up with 12 Michigan wineries. All but one (Chateau Aeronautique) are not currently represented at the other two locations, giving guests a reason to visit all three MBTB locations.

The Auburn Hills partner wineries are:

• Blue Water Winery (Carsonville/Thumbs Up Wine Trail)• Burgdorf’s Winery (Haslett/Pioneer Wine Trail)• Chateau Aeronautique (Jackson/Pioneer Wine Trail) • Chateau Chantal (Traverse City area/Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula)• Cody Kresta Vineyard & Winery (Mattawan/Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail)• Free Run Cellars (Berrien Springs/Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail)• Hawthorne Vineyards (Traverse City area/Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula)• Laurentide Winery (Lake Leelanau/Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail)• Left Foot Charley (Traverse City)
