OXFORD CHAMBER SERIES Calder QuartetMonday, February 10, 7:30 pm, Oxford Community Arts CenterTickets: $15 adult and seniors, $10 student
After performing alongside rockers like Andrew W.K., on the stages of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and at both the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Coachella music festical, Calder Quartet knows how to blend the beauty of classical music with the cultural relevance to appeal to all audiences.
Known for the variety of their shows, this unpredictable four-piece ensemble has gained im-pressive attention. The Boston Globe regards the Calder performances as “freshly rethought” and “impeccably played.”
A WORLD-WIDE PHENOMENONThe TenorsThursday, Feb. 20, 7:30 pm, Hall AuditoriumTickets: $35 adult, $34 seniors, $17 student The Tenors’ show will feature songs from their recent release, Lead With Your Heart, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard crossover charts. The album made history at the 2013 JUNO Awards, by taking home the first-ever Award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year. The award is the band’s first nomination and first win.
The music of Clifton Murray, Victor Micallef, Remigio Pereira and Fraser Walters is rich and soul-ful with powerful anthems and beautiful melodies. The Tenors’ unique repertoire is sung not only in English and French, but also in Spanish and Italian, reflecting their multicultural heritage.
Sponsored by Baymont Inn, Kona Bistro, Gil and Joyce Gordon, and Brett and Laura Smith.
EARL REEDER VISITING ARTISTEthel, post-classical string quartet with Kaki King, guitarWednesday, April 2, 7:30 pm, Hall AuditoriumTickets: $18 adult, $17 seniors, $9 student
The collaboration is anchored by a groundbreaking re-imagining of Bach’s masterful Brandenburg Concerto #6. Original works by Kaki King and a world premiere composition for Ethel & Kaki King by Serbian composer Aleksandra Vrebalov round out the program.
Known worldwide for transcending the limits of tradition, the string quartet Ethel has for the past decade and a half actively, aggressively, joyfully, adapted their epic skill-set to the presentation of rainbow-colored music of every style and description. Virtuoso guitarist Kaki King has, likewise, won an enthusiastic international following as her gutsy, honest, and astonishingly beautiful works seem to defy gravity.
Brought together, these celebrated sound worlds intermingle and swarm to create a glorious and inspired collaboration.Sponsored by Jack Keegan, The Knolls of Oxford, and Western College Alumnae Association

ON THE SECONDSTAGEPeter PanBy Sir James M. BarrieAdapted by Laura Ferdinand FeldmeyerApril 30-May 3, 7:30 pmMay 3-4, 2:00 p.m.Studio 88 TheatreTickets: $10 adult, $8 seniors, $7 student
Long before Peter Pan ever appeared on stage or screen, it was a game played by playwright James Barrie and five young brothers among the stately promenades and climbing trees of London’s Kensington Gardens. In this adap-tation, Barrie rejoins the game, and travels through his memory and imagination to revisit the moments of his life that influenced the creation of Peter Pan’s most iconic characters, moments, and places.
ON THE MAINSTAGECrumbs From the Table of JoyBy Lynn NottageDirected by Paul K. Bryant-JacksonFebruary 26–March 1, 7:30 pmMarch 2, 2:00 pm Gates-Abegglen TheatreTickets: $10 adult, $8 seniors, $7 student
The date is 1950 in Brooklyn, New York, a time when America is dealing with the after effects of World War II, the start of the Cold War, and is bracing itself for the Civil Rights movement. It truly is a time of change, something that is familiar with the Crump household. Crumbs From the Table of Joy is a memory play told through Ernestine, a seventeen year old, African American young woman whose family is dealing with their own realities of change.
AN OPERATIC MASTERPIECE!Albert Herringby Benjamin BrittenDirected by Leland KimballMusic direction by Benjamin Smolder Thurs–Sat, April 10–12, 7:30 pm Gates-Abegglen TheatreTickets: $15 adult, $13 seniors, $12 student
How many operas feature a man who is crowned May Queen because no one can vouch for the virginity of the village girls? Considered one of the great comic master-pieces of the twentieth century, Britten’s piece is hardwired into the youthful desire to rebel and break free from social conven-tion. Endlessly witty, touching and teeming with a wicked cast of characters, Albert Herring is sure to delight!
