Venue Union Partnerships

MBCC enjoys partnerships and union agreements with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees & Motion Picture Machine Operators (IATSE, Local 500) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

Staging, production and/or audio-visual work (including rigging and theatrical installations) is conducted by experienced union laborers in support of venue agreements.

Staging, production and/or audio-visual contractors may provide supervisory positions.

Please refer to the current IATSE Local 500 Rates (valid through December 2020) for labor information.

The quantity, size and types of displays exhibitors can deploy within the exhibit booth space are developed in consultation with the general service contractor.

ESCA

The MBCC is proud to employ the Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA) Industry Worker Identification System (WIS) Badge as a safety measure for venue access.

Identification badge systems improve the overall security of the venue by closely monitoring all access points and ensuring proper review of all staffing. All contractors, suppliers and vendors who work in the MBCC are identified with the ESCA WIS badge.

Public Safety & Security

Your Event Manager will coordinate meetings with the MBCC Public Safety Dept. to ensure the safety of all who enter the venue.

Safety considerations including the size, type, nature and scope of the event will be reviewed by the MBCC Public Safety team during the event planning process to assess staffing and security needs.

All approved security subcontractors must submit a Security Operational Plan to the Event Manager well in advance of the event. Additional operational plans may be requested.
