The Time of My LifeThe memories still remain even though the trip is long gone. Seems like just yesterday, though. Like it went by in a blink of an eye. The time of my life is when I went to St. Thomas, USVI. The only place I have ever went on vacation, and it was well worth it. The ocean clear and the sand was white. The relaxing resort called my name the closer

and closer we got.

The day of our vacation, well I didn’t really sleep the night before because I was excited, but we had an early flight. I was nervous because it was my first time on an airplane and I didn’t know how that would go over. So me and my family got everything loaded in the van and headed to the KCI airport. When we got there, we met up with my aunt Patty, uncle Sam, Draque, and Samantha. They all got to go with us, which was nice because Draque and my brother, Lowell are both seniors and me and Samantha are only a year apart in age. Once we all met up, we got on “The Spot” which is a little bus that takes you from the parking lot to the front of the airport. Once we got to the airport, we had to go through security and get our bags checked. After all of that, our flight finally boarded.

The anticipation rushed through me walking onto the plane because there was no turning back. I got the window seat, though, which was good so that I could enjoy the view and watch the sun rise. The plane would land in Atlanta, GA then we would have a layover before we boarded the plane for St. Thomas.

After we got to Atlanta, I realized their airport was way bigger than the one in KCI. When we got there we had to ride the subway, an elevator, and walk about a mile to get to our plane section. After we got there, we had a short layover and the boarded the plane to St. Thomas.

It was so amazing landing in St. Thomas. The landing strip went out into the ocean so it looked like you were surrounded by nothing but water. It was the very first time I ever seen the ocean, and it was just amazing. We got to the airport and unloaded the plane. After we got all of our bags we had to order a taxi to take us to our hotel. The taxi’s were so cool because it was just a truck in front but benches with a cover over it in the back. The ride was crazy though because it was bumpy and there was narrow roads. We went way up on the mountain to get to our resort. The drive took about 45 minutes all together, but there was beauty all around the whole time.

The resort we stayed at was by Sugar Bay. Once we got there, we checked in and went to our rooms. We weren’t in our rooms long because we wanted to walk down to the beach. We dropped our bags, and all of us went down there, fully dressed. I was wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt. So I kicked off my shoes and stepped into the ocean for the first time. It was so amazing. Just the feeling of the sand squishing through your toes. People can describe it all they want, but unless you feel it for yourself, you don’t know how amazing it feels.

The vacation was just overall the most amazing thing ever. If I described every little part of the vacation, I would have a whole book wrote by now. All in all you need to visit there sometime because it is beyond amazing. No words can describe it.

Asking Anonymous..

Q: What is your outlook on life?A: Life is really what you make of it. If you live it to the fullest, it can be amazing but if you live every day worrying about the little things, then it can be your worst nightmare.

Q: Who would you say has the most impact on your life and why?A: I think my mom because she is always someone I can count on for anything and everything that I need.

Q: If you could change one thing in this world, what would it be?A: I would change the way people treat each other. People these days are so judgmental, and I believe they are missing out on great people by being this way.

Q: What is one thing in your life you would change if you could?A: I would change my actions. I haven’t been the greatest child my whole life, and I have realized that it wasn’t fair or respectful to my parents.

Q: What was your favorite part about high school?A: It was definitely meeting all the friends I met. Although I lost many of them as I grew older, I still hold on to the memories that we shared.
