Mexican food includes native Indian foods as well as foods with Spanish and some

French influence.

Tortillas

A tortilla is made of corn or wheat flour. It is rolled into a round, thin disk.

Tacos

Tacos are tortillas filled with spicy meat, tomatoes, lettuce and a chili sauce.

Enchiladas

Enchiladas are tortillas filled with meat and cheese, baked and covered with a sauce.

Tamales

Tamales are cornmeal dough tortillas, filled with meat and chili sauce, wrapped in corn husks.

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are grilled or fried tortillas with meat, beans, chilies, tomatoes and onions.

Chalupas

Chalupas are tortillas fried and topped with meat, beans, chilies, tomatoes and onions

Mexican drinks Favorite

traditional Mexican drinks include atole, hot chocolate and coffee. Atole is made by boiling corn dough in water.
