PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR

OIL IMMERSED & DRY TYPE (CAST RESIN) DISTRIBUTION

TRANSFORMERS

1. Fully dimensional drawings to scale and in A3 sized sheets, giVing constructionaldetails and material specifications of all parts and components for 1000, 1250 & 1600KVA (Kuwait Rating), 11/0.433 KV, 3 Phase, Dyn 11, 50 Hz, Distribution Transformers(Oil Immersed with Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) fitted with HVandLV cable end boxes at the sides. The normal ratings of the transformers shall be themaximum continuous ratings under the worst temperature conditions encountered inKuwait (55C).

2. Complete type test reports and certificates for the above types and ratings ofdistribution transformers designed and constructed as per the technicalspecifications and requirements of the Ministry of Electricity & Water (MEW),Kuwait, or for transformers of similar rating, design and construction from anInternationally Recognized Independent Test Laboratory (ASTA, KEMA or CESI).Also, test certificates and reports to verify that the transformers are capable ofsustaining without any damage to any part three phase symmetrical shortcircuits current on the LV side with the fault power being maintained on the HVside for 3 shots of 3 seconds duration each. The test reports and certificatesolder than five (5) years are not accepted.

3. Completed, signed and stamped Technical Schedules for "General Particulars andGuarantees" for Distribution Transformers (Oil Immersed with Conservator,Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) in a given format.

4. Guarantee for Distribution Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersed withConservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) against design and manufacturingdefects.

5. Manufacturer's original leaflets/catalogues and other technical publications.

6. Manufacturer's profile including copy of the audited balance sheet including summary ofactual assets and liabilities for a minimum three (3) financial years attested by theconcerned authorities in the manufacturer's 0 n country .a)ldjn Kuwait.\. J. \.. ( . -.;.

7. Confidential statements from Bankers about the position of the Firm.

8. Manufacturer's staff including an organogram of the organization with names of thepersonnel.

9. Copy of certificate of registration with the Ministry of Commerce showing local agent'sname against the manufacturer of the product.

10. Copies of ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard Certificate, ISO 14001 EnvironmentManagement Standard Certificate and the BS 8800 Occupational Health and SafetyStandard Certificate, after authentication by the competent authorities.

11. Country of origin of the products.

12. International standards followed.

13. List and description of the Company's engineering plants stating the location, installedfacilities, manufacturing capacity of each and history of the company.

14. Details and sources of all raw materials and test certificates.

15. Details of manufacturing process and quality control procedure followed.

16. Design calculations as and where applicable.

17. Production capacity.

18. List and description of similar Distribution Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersedwith Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) supplied by the Manufacturerwithin the last 5 years indicating clearly their types, numbers, value, location and theOwner's name and address.

19. Certificates from Clients/Engineering Consultants of at least three Purchase Orders ofDistribution Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersed with Conservator,Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) where the manufacturer has had similar type inreliable operation for a minimum of three (3) years, certifying that their present status issatisfactory .

20. List of current works giving types, numbers, value, destination of DistributionTransformers (For each Type - Oil Immersed with Conservator, Hermetically Sealedand Dry Type) and purchaser's name and address.

21. Once the above submissions/requirements are completed, studied & accepted,the Manufacturer has to provide this Ministry at their own cost with one completesample of 1250 KVA Distribution Transformers (For each Type - Oil Immersedwith Conservator, Hermetically Sealed and Dry Type) for trying out in the networkfor a period of one (1) complete year.
