THE METZGEREI and its soul

Right up to the early 1980s, the Art Nouveau building at

Rheinparkstrasse 4 in the Lindenhof district was home

to the butcher shop, METZGEREI HENNINGER.

The building itself and the butcher shop always

belonged together.

Retaining the spirit and the history of days and times long

gone, Thomas Schmitt and Joachim Linus Weber decided

to exploit the attractive location on the banks of the Rhine

as a public venue once again and open a bistro and wine

bar, retaining the original name, THE METZGEREI.

As befits a former butcher shop, it is all about the

freshness and quality of the food and drinks but also about

a convivial atmosphere focussing primarily on the guests

themselves.

The edgy ambience, designed with loving attention to

detail, rekindles memories of visits to the butcher shop in

days gone by – in a fresh and inviting re-interpretation.
