General Method Statement For Bulk Excavation And Back Filling Work

1. Excavation Work Prior to start of the excavation works main contractor to inform to Khyber heavy

equipment & Trading Co.( Khetco ) regarding the location and details of the proposed works.

Excavation will be carried out based on soil strata and excavation with hydraulic jack hammer will be employed for hard strata.

Excavation material will be loaded on to dump trucks using wheel loaders or excavators and dumping location to be located by main contractor.

The edge of the excavations will be protected with physical barrier such as rail or similar to prevent falls to comply with health and safety requirements to be do by main contractor.

2. Back Filling Work

The Filling Material Shall be Premixed With earlier and Back Filling Work Will be Carried Out Based on specification.

Loaded on to dumbs trucks using wheel loader / Excavator and dumbing to filling location.

Grader, compactor and water bowser if necessary will be employed for back filling work and main contractor should be checked and approved. Compaction shall be achieved with this use of vibrating Roller each layer shall be tested accordance with the specification.

3. Protection of Work

Main contractor will responsible for the protection and maintenance of the following permanent and temporary works for the duration of the contractor.

Municipality demarcation points.

Site offices. Project hoardings. Dewatering. Survey works.

4. Engineering A Professional Land Surveyor Shall be appointed to Carryout The work and establish

Bench marks on site all the necessary Survey data by main contractor, a joint Survey to check exiting ground levels Shall be Carried Out With the Consulting Engineers

5. supervision khetco will provide the full there supervision by dedicated and following staff on site.

o Project Manager -Full Timeo Land Surveyor -Full Timeo Quantity Surveyor -Full Timeo Project Engineer -Full Timeo Site Supervisors -Full Timeo Inspection ( Excavators ) -Full Time

6. working Hours

Normal working hours for the site will be 6.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

For officially declared public or national holidays. As per Engineers Instructions site will be closed.

Khetco intends to works 24 hours each day on a split shift basis. Khetco will do proper housekeeping on job site every days. Prior to start the job and

after completion of the job.

7. Key Personal

General Manager - Overall in - charge of the site activities. Project Manager – Project all Responsibility. Site Engineer - In – charge of the supervision of the activities. Land Surveyor – All Surveying Work Quantity Surveyor- Preparing The Invoice, Related all Document Safety Officer – Monitors SHES aspects during the operation of the activities. Supervisors / Foreman – Responsible for proper excavation and handling of activity

related to this procedure. Operator – Responsible for safe operation of the equipment he is assigned to operate.

8. Communication And Training Tool Box Talk and Risk Communication to All workers Prior to Start work. And All proper Document Will be Prepared, as attendance sheet.

9. Equipment

Following equipment will be employed for excavator works.

Bulldozer. Excavator. Excavator with Breaker. Dump Truck / Trailer Grader. Compactor. Wheel Loader. Support Equipment.

10. Handover

After complication of works Khetco will issue a request for inspection to the engineer. Main contractor will arrange the inspection of the works with the consultant. after

completion of visual inspection if any observation recorded and any incomplete works will found it should be cleared out by khetco.

Main contractor complete a topography survey of the site and issue 1 No hard copy to the Khetco.

Upon acceptance of the works the engineer should issue the taking over certificate to khetco.
