Metaphor: A figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.

Examples ➢ The snow is a white blanket.

zoo.

Authors use metaphors to strengthen their writing and to help the people reading it understand it. It also creation of vivid imagery and its revitalization of familiar words and phrases with new meanings.

Question Using an object in the room, create a metaphor for an emotion.

Example- Love is a book waiting to be finished.
