WHO IS YESSBased in Edmonton, Youth Empowerment & Support Services (YESS) provides immediate and low-barrier shelter, temporary housing, and individualized wrap-around services for youth ages 15–24. We focus on working collaboratively with our youth-supporting partners on prevention and diversion out of homelessness. And ultimately, we aim to walk beside traumatized youth as they heal through relationships.

YESS provides a range of programs and services that are designed to meet youth where they are at and support their needs as they transition into the community. All of YESS programs focus on the root causes of homelessness, addiction, abuse, and mental illness in our society by focusing on untreated trauma. Specific programs include an Overnight Shelter, Daytime Resource Centre and Supportive Housing.

The youth who bravely show up at our front doors come from all cultures, economic backgrounds, races, religions, communities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Each youth has a different story. Some have been neglected, some kicked out of their homes, some ran away to escape abuse. Regardless of their circumstances, they are welcomed at YESS, where a dedicated and diverse team of people is whole-heartedly committed to providing them with the resources, guidance, love, and support they need.

YESS GALA FOR YOUTHThe YESS Gala for Youth is an opportunity to celebrate the community of people and organizations walking beside youth on their journeys towards healing, and to welcome new supporters who want to join us in our vision for addressing trauma and youth homelessness in Edmonton.

For the 2020 YESS Gala for Youth: Metamorphosis presented by TD Bank Group, we are proud to work once again with Foundry Conferences and Events. This year they were recipients of the Best Team Effort Award at the Esprit Awards for the International Live Events Association (ILEA) for their work on the 2018 YESS Gala for Youth.
