Company History
Our company history started as a sole proprietorship in 1994. Our first premises were in a rented attic office at the Loederburg/ Germany commercial district “Schacht VI”.
Major business was the manufacturing of industrial gaskets, the dis-tribution of sealing technology and technical trade. We started with two staff members only.
In 1999 Mr. Ralf Moeller, our owner, invested in a new site at the com-mercial district of Hecklingen. Soon, two more buildings were added.
In 2004 the premises were extended and the go-ahead for the erec-tion of a large warehouse was given. Soon the capacity was reached. Therefore, another large warehouse was built in 2011. Today, we store 2,200 different materials in 9,000 storage spaces located on 6,500 m2 in order to ensure speedy gasket manufacture and prompt delivery.

A clear cut
Our three water jet cutting machines can cut any material. Whether large shapes or deli-cate cuts with narrow radii - water jets can virtually cut everything.
Softer materials such as rubber, are cut with clean water. For hard materials, such as stain-less steel, quartz sand is added to the jet. Beside gaskets we also manufacture other applications to customers‘ specifications on our water jet cutting machines.

Speedy and accurate to size
The clear cut - CNC plotter
Modern and fast CNC plotters cut out any shape of gasket, making full use of the ma-terial.
Whether tightest radii or long straight sec-tions, high precision is standard. They cut, among others, our dimensionally correct soft layer materials for our metal/soft-material gaskets.

Stamping Division
Straight off perfection
Own mechanical tool-making
Our extensive machinery includes a variety of stamping machines - ranging from manual ones for the smallest batch to machines for large-batch production.
Here we make, among others, gaskets from fibre materials, graphite, elastomers, felt, cork and industrial plastics.
Large volumes are manufactured with stamping machines
Our engineers develop optimized process control systems as well as machinery and equipment for the state-of-the-art manufacture of metal gaskets and metal/soft-material gaskets in cooperation with our own tool-making.

Metal Innovations
The Gasket Champions League
The production of high-quality metal gaskets as well as me-tal/soft material gaskets is the Champions League of gasket manufacturing. The combination of high accuracy, perfect profiles, contour as well as high-duty soft materials under constant quality control ensures state-of-the-art gasket ma-nufacturing.
The manufacturing of metal gaskets requires various pro-duction processes, in contrast to the flat gasket production. Our comprehensive and truly advanced machinery with au-tomated processes ensures a consistently high quality of all kinds of gaskets.
Our gaskets are the results of our rich ex-perience with applications and continuous laboratory testing. We have optimized our production processes to ensure consistent quality, also to produce as cheaply as possi-ble for our customers.
Each and every gasket is labelled with DN, PN, material, layer material and batch number.

Process Optimization
From stainless steel to safety components
The production of most metal gaskets begins on our laser cutting machine. The blanks are cut with high precision.
After that, the blanks are further processed. CNC vertical lathes and horizontal lathes turn them into quality sealing elements.
Each individual step is subject to continuo-us quality control. The computer-controlled automation for standard and purpose-made gaskets is a crucial element of quality assu-rance.

Gaskets with support structures
Graphite or fibers can withstand higher loads when supported. We make gaskets with inner eyelets as well as outer eyelets. Eyelet materials are mainly stainless steel or copper. Depending on customers‘ require-ments, the eyelets are produced in welded or continuous design.
By using a modern laser welding process we create a perfect connection without materi-al discoloration. Thus, the properties of the eyelet materials can be kept.
In addition, gaskets may also get a metal envelope.

Immediately after completion our gaskets come to the dispatch area. Our experienced staff know how to handle materials in order to ensure undamaged and safe delivery.
It is always our cusomer‘s decision whether to deliver to their address or, in order to save time, directly (and using neutral packaging) to their customers.
Well packaged for customers
Gaskets are prepared for transport individu-ally or with liners.
Gaskets are covered with foil and packed with the carrier material at the vacuum machine.

The quality of all gaskets begins with the inspection of incoming goods. In-process inspections during manufacturing ensure a consistent quality. Only goods that have successfully passed our final inspection go into dispatch.
In our own laboratory materials and gaskets are constantly tested in connection with soft materials.
Gasket compounds are mainly determined by the properties of the respective gas-ket. These properties can be characterized in terms of characteristic parameters. Based on these characteristic parameters the use of one gasket can be optimally determined. In addition, characteristic parameters are a clear proof of quality as-surance. In the laboratory, the long-term properties, the sealing properties and the deformation properties are determined.
The tightness and compliance with a maximum leakage rate of a gasket compound is determined by the predeformation of the gasket. During our test, we determine the elastic recovery and the real elastic-plastic behavior of the gasket. The compre-hensive test results are available at any time.

Optimized Solutions for Industrial Systems
Our insulating flange systems contribute to the improve-ment of safety at insulating sets for cathodic corrosion protection and for the improvement of systems (black and white connections) to prevent corrosion from the voltage potential of different materials. We now offer the system MMD -HPIS - High Performance besides the previously used insulating flange systems with plain insulating washers and insulating sleeves (MMD IS - Standard Insulating Set) and the optimized systems with enlarged insulating washers and optimized insulating sealing elements (MMD GPIS - Good Practice) for better utilization of the screws. MMD -HPIS - High Performance is based on a patented solution for transmitting high bolt forces on the insulating parts.
Insulating flange systems
This is the only system capable of both high-ly utilizing bolts and compensating for or preventing creep reaxation of the insulating materials.
90% screw utilization
Until now, commonly used systems could only utilize bolts up to between 20 to 50 %. Our MMD HPIS - High Performance system allows maximum utilization up to 90 %. The bolt prestressing forces are kept at a high level after installation, there is no system-damaging creep relaxation.
Technically sealed sealing con-nections - permanently
We thus contribute to sealing connections that are permanently technically sealed, which meet the requirements of the German Industrial Safety Regulation (BetrSichV) and which can reliably deal with high additional loads in operation.
The assembly is simplified and safer. Repea-ted tigthness tests can be omitted due to the systems properties, thus contributing to the reduction of operating costs.

With our MMD-BD Blind Gaskets we make a significant contribution to your operational safety. To fulfill all the legal requirements our blind gaskets are identified with all the ne-cessary data (batch traceability). We make a special contribution to safety by identifying the weight on the identification label.
By using high-strength materials, the thick-ness can be reduced and thus the installation be simplified. We achieve weight reductions of up to 40 % compared with conventional materials.
The blind gaskets are available in all custo-mary designs for standard flanges as well as for customized applications.

Washers and washers with drainage grooves
We manufacture washers made from custo-mary bolt materials with detailed labeling. So, we close the gap to the requirements of the Directive 97/23 / EC (PED). In con-trast to usual washers (non-HV-washers) which are according to standards unmarked, our washers are labelled with regard to manufacturer‘s trademark, nominal size (metric / imperial), material and batch. In addition to the usual dimensions of the various standards, we have developed the MMD-W (Design 1) with a larger outer di-ameter. This allows visible marking after in-stallation and thus is a very useful method for installation inspection.

A special product is the MMD-W-CP (Design 2). It is a washer with drainage grooves and has already proven itself in not encased ap-
plications. It prevents or reduces the cor-rosion caused by rain water to low-
er bolt holes with horizontal or oblique flange applikations in ascending / descending lines.

Measuring Washers
MMD- System
The measuring washers (MMD-®boltvalid Systems) were developed in collaboration with ®flangevalid.
A particular challenge for bolt mounting is secure generation and control of the forces to be applied or the applied prestressing forces, particularly in flanged joints. In many cases, considerable scattering caused by fric-tion is neglected. Due to physical reasons, the control of mounted bolts by prevail tor-que is not acceptable. The only way to find out is by measuring strain or prestressing force (see also Association of German Engi-neers - VDI 2862-2) since the static friction to overvome (breakaway torque) does not provide useful insight. Elongation measure-ment is quite laborious, and the measure-ment with compression-type load cells is very expensive. In addition, load cells are ill-siuted for use in pressure equipment because of the many additional materials and bent surfaces.

Desired prestressing forces are achieved safely
Using MMD-®boltvalid measuring washers the desired prestressing forces can be achieved safely even with „ro-tating flange sheets“. In addition to being low-cost in comparison to other methods, MMD ®boltvalid is the only known system that reliably measures, validates and, if desired, monitors the prestressing forces.
A later review of the mounting prestressing can be con-ducted either manually, continuously or time basedly. The measuring washer MMD-®boltvalid is made of modi-fied standard washers and carries no foreign materials in the threaded connection. The new RFID system eliminates a wired connection.

Designs and calculations
Our service - your peace of mind
The technical equipment for experimental testing consists of several test systems (TA Luft - Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control, tensile tests, hardness tests, test flanges, etc.) that can simulate typical problems from the daily practice of a plant operator. Furthermore, coopera-tion agreements are in place with the University of Applied Sciences of Merseburg (Analytics) and the University of Ap-plied Sciences of Muenster (Sealing Technology) in order to carry out further testing.
Besides the experimental experience the Department of Application Engineering is also a competent partner in the design and calculation of flanged connections. Whether you require information about the best sealing for a parti-cular flange connection or you search for the best possible assembly torque of bolts - our Department of Application Engineering assists you with help and advice, also at your premises. Our goal here is always to create a flange con-nection that is as tight and as safe as possible.
The very experienced Moeller Metalldichtungen Depart-ment of Application Engineering supports you in interpre-ting and calculating of flanged connections. We attempt a holistic approach to the point to be sealed.
Our services include mathematical proof of flange connec-tions on equipment and piping according to AD 2000 Data Sheet B7/B8, ASME VIII Div.l app. 2, EN 1591-1 and EN 13445-3 in all standard calculation programs (e.g. TÜV Dimy, PV Elite, Compress) or using the finite element method (FEM, e.g. ANSYS) with re-asonable utilization of the bolt materials (preferably 70% Rp 0.2) and determining the required torque for the bolts.
Calculations of bolt tension are made accor-ding to AD 2000 leaflet B7, a modified cal-culation program using gasket characteri-stics according to DIN EN 13555 or DIN EN 1591-1. Furthermore, paid FEM calculations are possible in cooperation with our part-ners.
Thus all geometric shapes, also rectangular flange connections, etc. can be analysed. Depending on the task, the appropriate calculation method is selected and a relia-ble statement is made regarding the applied bolt force or bolt torque.
With the procedure described, a holistic view of
a flange connection is possible. We have the objective to provide the best possible gasket for a particular application combined with the best possible setting for the bolt preload.
Since we manufacture virtually all known gasket types as well as gasket geometries we will be able to use unbiased judgement in order to find the best possible solution for your particular application.
