ALSAN MBSP - MASTIC

Soprema Alsan MBSP is a flexible, high performance, watertight, puncture and UV resistant ready to use

one-component resin is used in metal bui lding and single-ply restorat ion and waterproof ingliquid-applied membrane applications. Combined with a patented polyester fleece fabric, it willform a monolithic, self-flashing and self-adhering reinforced waterproofing membrane for variety of

metal building and single-ply tear-off and recovery-roofing applications. Applied alone over a variety ofsurfaces, it will form a monolithic, self-flashing and self-adhering non-reinforced waterproofing membrane.

Alsan MBSP Mastic can be utilized in the following applications:

- Metal Roofs (reinforced and non-reinforced; at seams and fastener heads as necessary)- Single Ply Restoration (reinforced, partially reinforced and non-reinforced)

- Repairs (reinforced as necessary)- Flashings (reinforced)

- Single Ply Seam Repair (reinforced and non-reinforced)

PRODUCT PREPARATION & COVERAGEThoroughly mix the entire pail, slowly, for 2-3 minutes before each use. DO NOT MIX AT HIGH SPEED. For verticalapplications and seam repair use the thixotropic, single component MBSP flashing mastic grade resin. The resin may beapplied with a 2-4 square edged trowel for seams, or integrated with fleece using a brush for vertical flashing elements.

When using the reinforcing fleece the mastic should be applied to a 1/8 thickness and extend 1 beyond the fleece edge.

Product is supplied in re-sealable 5 gallon cans with locking rings.

Always store in cool and dry location. Do not store in direct sunlight or in temperature below 40 F (5 C) or above 77 F

(25 C). Storing the containers above the recommended temperature may reduce the products shelf life. The resin maypolymerize at temperatures above 140F (60C). Avoid direct sunlight and heat source when storing products on project site.

Shelf life: 12 months in original unopened container.

When work is interrupted or completed, tools must be cleaned thoroughly with Alsan RS Cleaner before the prod-uct cures (within the pot life of the product approx. 15-minutes).

HANDLING AND STORAGE

All substrates must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease, curing compounds, release agents, laitance, gross

irregularities, loose, unsound or foreign material such as moss, algae growth, dirt, ice, snow, water or any othercondition that would be detrimental to adhesion of resin to the substrate. Apply Soprema Alsan Primer to substrateas required. Refer to Soprema Alsan Substrate Preparation & Priming Guidelines for specific recommendations

and requirements. Contact Soprema Technical Department for recommendations regarding specific applications.

The product can be applied at the substrate and ambient temperatures between 40 F (5 C) to 96 F (35 C)and maximum 97 % relative humidity. When heated with a 55 gal and/or a 5 gal heating belt, the product will be

significantly easier to apply and can be sprayed.

Each roof application has unique conditions and may therefore require a specific system solution and application.The Alsan MBSP Flashing mastic makes for a superb sealant for horizontal and vertical joints and fasteners on

metal buildings. It can be used to patch and repair existing single ply roofs at the seams, flashing areas and inthe field, without removing the membrane. The roofs can be continually recoated, to extend the life of the roof.

Always use caution when handling the products. Do not smoke. Keep away from open flame, fire or anyignition source. Avoid skin and eye contact with this product.

Cured product may be disposed of in standard landfil ls. Uncured product is considered ahazardous material and must be handled as such, in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
