6000 Years of History“For in so many days as this world was made, in so many thousand years shall it be concluded... and God brought to a conclusion upon the sixth day the works He made ... This is an account of the things formerly created, as also it is a prophecy of what is to come ... in six days created things were completed: it is evident, therefore that they will come to an end after six thousand years.”

The Writings of Irenaeus, volume 1, p.577.

6000 Years of History

“And I appointed the eighth day also, that the eighth day should be the first-created after my work, and that the first seven revolve in the form of the seventh thousand, and that at the beginning of the eighth thousand there should be a time of not-counting – endless”

Rutherford H. Platt, Jr. Ed. The Forgotten Books of Eden, “The Secrets of Enoch,” (Alpha house, Inc. 1927, World Bible Publishers, Inc.) p.92.

6000 Years of History

“And God made in six days the works of his hands; and he finished them on the seventh day, and he rested the seventh day, and sanctified it. Consider, my children what that signifies, he finished them is six days. The meaning of it is this; that is six thousand years the Lord God will bring all things to an end.

The Epistle of Barnabas

Rashi:“In the first 2,000 there was desolation, for the next 2,000 years the Torah or Law flourished, and the next 2,000 was to be the messianic era. But through our many iniquities, all these years have been lost”

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 8:1

And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Page 9: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 8:4-6

4 Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. 5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. 6 And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip when they heard him and saw the signs that he did.

Page 10: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 8:7-8

7 For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was much joy in that city.

Page 11: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 8:12-13

12 But when they believed Philip as he preached good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed.

Acts 8:14-15

14 Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, 15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit,

Page 15: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 8:16-17

16 for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:29-30

29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

John 12:38-40 38That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? (Isa 53:1)39Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. (Isa 6:9-10)

And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul.

But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison.

Page 26: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.

13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”

15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”

Acts 15:1-21And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. 2When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas,.. … should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

Page 33: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 15:19-2119 Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God, 20 but should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood. 21 For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”

Page 34: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 15:2928 For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: 29 that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”

Page 41: Messianic Study in the Book of Acts

Acts 10:13-1413 And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

Acts 10:28-29

28 And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean. 29 So when I was sent for, I came without objection. I ask then why you sent for me.”

Acts 1:8We are Israel; grafted in and adopted. We should take the gospel message throughout Jerusalem, (entire Messianic movement) then throughout all Judah (saved people in the Christian church) then to Samarea (the Christian Church who believed they are saved and not really saved), and then to the uttermost parts of the world.

God wants one group, not a divided groupGod wants community, not just congregation

I believe that the largest mission field is in our churches

These chapters should be read candidly, and its teachings accepted: what they are is so clear that there is little need of explanation. Take heed how ye read. Spurgeon
