Catholic Schools Week: January 26 – 31, 2020
Catholic schools benefit all year long from the religious guidance, prayers, and support parishes provide. We celebrate our outstanding academic programs, religious education, and service opportunities. In support of the National Catholic Schools Week, Holy Apostles School has planned the activities below to celebrate our school and faith.
Saturday, January 25 - Sunday, January 26 – Celebrating Our Parish Community - Holy Apostles student volunteers will
be ushers, readers, and greeters during all weekend masses. The Children’s Choir will perform at the 9:15am mass and the Crescendo Choir will perform at the 11:15am mass. Students will distribute bookmarks to parishioners designed by HA students. All are welcome to attend the High School Fair in Johnson Hall after 9:15am mass. The Book Fair will be open after 9:15am & 11am mass.
Monday, January 27 – Celebrating Faith - Students will have an all school mass at St. Joseph Center, beginning at
10:00am. Bag lunches will be eaten after mass and Sr. Jodene will give a Chapel History talk. We will bowl with our buddies at Bowlero Lanes in Wauwatosa. Students should wear tennis shoes to bowl. Students should dress in their assigned colors. The Book Fair will be open in the library during and after school. 8th / 1st = orange 7th / 2nd = purple 6th / 3rd = blue 5th / K4 = green 4th / K5 = yellow K3 = red Tuesday, January 28 – Celebrating Our Students - We are crazy excited about our students and our buddies! Students will spend part of the day with their buddies doing all kinds of activities and games with each other. To celebrate, students may dress in crazy colors, hats, socks, etc! (Out of uniform dress code still applies, closed toed shoes, no flip flops or clogs, no face paint or hair spray.) The Book Fair will be open in the library during and after school. Wednesday, January 29 – Celebrating Our Nation - The Home & School Association is sponsoring a pancake lunch for the students during the normal lunch times. The pancakes are not allergy friendly (peanut/tree nut, etc.); students with food allergies are asked to bring a bag lunch. Students may wear their pajamas and slippers. Throughout the day K-5th grades will be conducting their own Trivia Games and creating Valentines for Veterans. The middle school students will have a Trivia Contest at 1:45pm in Lofy Hall. The Book Fair will be open in the library during and after school. Thursday, January 30 – Celebrating School Spirit - Students will wear their Holy Apostles’ Charger spirit clothing. Student Council will lead a Pep Rally for grade K-4 at 1:00pm and grades 5-8 at 1:45pm in the gym. Families are invited to Family Night spaghetti dinner in the gym from 4:45-6:00pm. The Book Fair will be open during the Family Night dinner. Friday, January 31 – Celebrating Family & Rest - No School

There has been a schedule change which has created openings in the lunchroom volunteer calendar. We are in need of a volunteer in the lunchroom (11:00 - 12:50) on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month January through May. Please email Cathy ([email protected]) if you are available to help on a consistent basis for either of these slots. Thank you!
