Voices fill the air. I’m more than just what you see. Leave not thy work unfinished. In the light of love everybody shines. If ya mope and groan something’s gotta give. Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us. It makes no difference if it’s sweet or hot, just give that rhythm everything you’ve got. Meditations, Celebrations, Music floating out to starlight. Any man can get where he wants to if he’s got some fire in his soul.Voices fill the air. I’m more than just what you see. Welcome!
The 2010-2011 season has been resoundingsuccess for the Philadelphia Boys Choir andChorale! As always, our boys were fully oc-cupied with rehearsals and performances. Itis always inspiring to witness their growththroughout the year as musicians, individualsand an ensemble.
I am pleased to share with you a few impor-tant developments that took place behindthe scenes. Most importantly, we sold ourcurrent base of operations, “The Embassy” asit is affectionately coined, to expand ourmusical traditions in today’s modern envi-ronment. A new building in the Fairmont District was purchased withthe revenue of the sale and renovations will begin this summer. Thenew facility will showcase the Choir’s exemplary music education pro-grams, and it will provide room for needed growth. We will be sharingmuch more about this exciting project with you in the coming months.
As this initiative progresses, we are maintaining our fiscal discipline inthe midst of continuing uncertainty in the overall economy. Carefulmonitoring of the budget throughout the year and the creation of anoperating reserve will ensure that we will remain on a sustainable fiscalcourse.
All of this would not be possible without the close alignment of ourgovernance, management, families, and generous supporters. Philadel-phia Boys Choir and Chorale has weathered the economic downturnthat continued throughout this season. In fact, we thrived in spite of it.
This is an exciting time to be part of such a marvelous organization. Onbehalf of the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, we are grateful to ourtrustees, donors, volunteers, staff, and parents for their dedication.
Thank you for joining us today, and enjoy the concert!
