Reminders

Dear Parents,

Our 2016 NAPLAN results highlight terrific achievement as a result of the outstanding work of all

staff. Our Year 3 and 5 students have recorded very pleasing scores as outlined below.

In all learning areas, our school is outperforming like schools, the state average and the

national average.

The key for our school is to continue to value add with our students and to ensure we lay a strong

foundation in our Early Years and Kindergarten programs for our students to become successful

learners throughout their schooling. In addition, the results are also a reflection on the time and

effort our parents put into assisting their children with learning.

Ogham Soup – performing music from the Celtic Lands

Presented by Musica Viva in Schools

Bellerive Primary School, Thursday 18th August, 9.00am

Pronounced “Owem Soup” this trio share the songs, tunes and stories that make Irish music popular the world over. Students

can expect to see and hear Celtic folk instruments such as the fiddle, whistles, guitar, bodhran and the Irish Bronze Age horn.

The members of Ogham Soup are Karen Kyriakou, Jason Day and Hughie Hanily.

Students from Grade 3 – Grade 6 will be attending this performance.

The performance is part of the teaching and learning program and builds on preparatory work completed in music lessons over

the last five weeks. The teaching resources are linked directly to the music curriculum as well as other curriculum areas

especially literacy and numeracy.

We would be delighted if you could come to the performance. There is no charge for parents/guardians and

community members.

Father’s Day Stall

The School Association will be running it’s annual Father’s

Day Stall on Wednesday 31st August from 8.20am on-

wards. Each student will have the opportunity to purchase a

gift with all items priced between $1 and $6. The stall will

be set up in the corridor outside the hall. Primary students

are required to make purchases before school and ECE

classes will be timetabled to visit the stall during the morning

block. A separate Kinder stall will be set up on the Kinder

Deck from 8. 40 am.

LOST PROPERTY

Our students wear their uniform with pride. Unfor-

tunately, items of school clothing are prone to being

misplaced or lost. Please name all uniform items

clearly, including children’s plastic food containers.

Our lost property bins consistently contain unnamed

clothing, and articles which remain unclaimed.
