From the desk of the editors The coming new year 2013 welcomes us for opening a new chapter of our life. Each passing moments is new in its approach and arrival. However, each beginning is the continuation of something and returns to something. Each successive age represents a much improved and a developed age which can be exemplified from the fact the philosophical underpinnings of structuralism, post-structuralism, modernism, and postmodernism etcetera have welcomed a different but a new kind of world order. The unexpected growth of science and technology, liberalization, globalization and privatization has commenced a new kind of social and cultural discourse. The synchronic realties of the cultural discourse at the axis of the syntagmatic and paradigmatic realities have brought a new from of literature and world order.

Literature which refers to littera, ‘a ltter’ or ‘book learning’, acquaintance or familiarity with books, connotes a literary culture which is acquired through reading books. Literature therefore, corresponds to the modern literacy. The form nature and function of literature have gone under a significant change ever since the beginning of the formation of literature as a form of social and cultural discourse which has always propelled the epistemological processes. Moreover, with the advent of enlightenment and its basic philosophy of romanticism, the formation of self and subject becomes very central to the discorsum of literary criticism, literary production, and literary theory. The germane growth of subjectivity and the development of the philosophy of modernism and postmodernism changed the entire form of truth, reality and alatheia. The basic change in the form of reality brought multiplicity and fragment into the cup of reality.

DST Project Completion The research project titled “Performance and Reliability of Intrusion Detection Systems for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks” funded by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India has ended in January 2013. Ms. Usha Banerjee, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering was the principal investigator of this project. The total funding obtained for this project was Rs. 6, 42, 000/-. This project resulted in a total of 11 research papers (7 journal papers and 4 conference papers).
