Social Operations Manager (1)

As the Social Operations Manager, you will be in charge of planning and executing two wide-scale events: Management Launch Party and Management Gala.

Management Launch Party is an initiative which takes place near the start of the Fall semester to introduce first-years to UTSC’s culture and environment, while welcoming back returning students. Meanwhile, Management Gala is MESA’s largest event where Management students, faculty, and alumni come together to celebrate a successful year filled with accomplishments and memories.

This role involves collaborating with Management clubs under the umbrella structure to ensure they are well-represented at both events, as well as overseeing all operations of the events from venue booking to execution. Additionally, you will be expected to implement new ideas for both events to improve the overall experience for attendees.

If you’re interested in using your creativity and event planning experience to make unforgettable student experiences, this is the role for you!

Qualifications:

· Communication skills – Interacting with the student body on various levels

· Organization skills – Ability to plan and execute comprehensive logistics for an event

Student Engagement

Social Development Manager (1)

The Social Development Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and exploring fun and innovative social events for MESA’s internal team AND for all students in the management program. Through executing said social events, you will be expected to help Management students de-stress and build connections, effectively bolstering and uniting UTSC’s student population, while playing a supporting role to benefit MESA’s internal culture. You will be expected to proactively plan and establish new social opportunities outside of UTSC to help cultivate a dynamic atmosphere among Management students. The Social Development Manager will also coordinate with sponsors and MESA team members to ensure consistent output of high-quality initiatives.

In addition to executing creative social events, the Social Development Manager is responsible for executing Management Student Connections (MSC), an interactive, full-day event that introduces grade 12 students to UTSC Management’s environment and culture.

Qualifications:

· Extroverted, charismatic, and passionate· Interpersonal skills – Ability to connect with students and a team on a

personal level· Organization skills – Ability to plan and execute comprehensive

Student Engagement

Student Development Manager (1)

The Student Development Manager will be responsible for managing MESA’s volunteer program, working with proactive students and communicating about events within the management program. Through the use of email and social media, you will be expected to reach out to interested students about opportunities to develop their skills and experiences, as well as receive and evaluate feedback about events taking place.

Furthermore, the Student Development Manager will be responsible for managing and updating contact listings for all registered volunteers. You will match and contact interested students about corresponding activities, and provide up to date information including the location, date, and time of these events.

If you’re interested in leading a program that presents opportunities for skills development for UTSC Management students, look no further than this position!

Student Mentorship Manager (2)

As the student mentorship manager, you will be responsible for linking new management students to upper year mentors that will provide them with advice and guidance on anything from academics, job search, co-op and more. The mentorship position will take the lead in coordinating the Most Valued Protégé program (MVP), and will feature experienced individuals from the management program connecting with new students, through a series of networking sessions and social activities. The student mentorship manager will be responsible for the coordination and execution of these events which aim to help younger students adjust and thrive in the UTSC community.

For those that want to help new students ease into life in the UTSC management program, this is the perfect role for you!

Qualifications:

· Strong organizational skills to manage and plan networking and social events for student body

· High level time management skills, in order to ensure that all planned events operate smoothly

Marketing Manager (1)

Does advertising, branding, and public relations interest you? If so, then the Marketing Manager position may be the right fit for you!

The Marketing Managers will be responsible for cohesively collaborating with a team to develop all advertising, branding and promotional material from conceptualization to completion. As a vital role in the MESA organization, the Marketing Managers will be responsible for prolonging overall branding for the benefit of MESA and the Management program. You will be in charge of various marketing campaigns from print, to digital, to guerilla. This role asks for someone who has a passion for creative projects, can take initiative over tasks, and are constantly looking to bring new ideas to the table.

Reporting and promoting all events and initiatives within the Management program and extra-curricular clubs, in addition to developing insightful and relevant content, MESA’s Marketing Managers will be responsible for engaging the student body to contribute towards a more cohesive and collaborative culture.

Marketing and Communications

Digital Solutions Manager (1)

As the Digital Solutions Manager, you will develop, manage and oversee MESA’s brand via the website platform and increase user activity on the website. While overseeing the scope of MESA’s digital presence and strategy, you will also actively lead the creation and implementation of various online marketing strategies. The Digital Solutions Manager will further be responsible for the management, redesign and optimization of existing communication pipelines for efficiency.

Technical Requirements:

· Proficiency in HTML, CSS· Knowledge of content management systems (such as WordPress)· Knowledge of search engine optimization practices· Basic proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (or similar) is preferred but not

required· Proficiency in JavaScript and PHP is preferred but not

International Marketing Manager (1)

As the International Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for connecting with the international student population within the Management program. You will be expected to actively encourage and engage the student body to take part in club events, extra-curricular experiences, and initiatives. This role entails communication with the international student body via social media tools including WeChat, and generating new ways to connect with the international student body. The International Marketing Manager will also connect both the faculty and students to effectively communicate and provide stronger support for international students in the Management program.

Literacy Engagement Manager (2)

As the literacy engagement manager, you will be expected to overlook the content creation and publication of the E-Magazine for the management program, Catalyst. You will be responsible for managing a team of writers, and read content submissions, editing for spelling, punctuation and grammar as needed. You will also ensure that all submissions are factual, and determine whether the final article is ready for publication. This role also entails consistent communication with MESA about publication policies,

as well as setting and maintaining deadlines. Duties also include running the Humans of Management initiative to share stories of our very own Management students.

Additionally, the literacy engagement manager will generate new ideas for publication of Catalyst, including implementation of new processes, technology, and design.

For individuals passionate about writing, and offering quality content to UTSC management, this is a challenging and rewarding role.

Qualifications:

· Detailed oriented, capable of recognizing minor details to ensure accuracy and quality of publications

· Ability to prioritize and multitask, to perform administrative tasks such as design and meeting when needed, while maintaining strict deadlines set out by the team

· Ability to communicate with MESA team, members of the editing and writing teams, and students of UTSC Management

· Ability to organize and plan out publication dates, and manage all writers within the team in order to achieve the stated goal

· Time management skills in order to properly allocate work to team, and to ensure that deadlines set are realistic and adequately met

Academic Advocacy Manager (1)

As an Academic Advocacy Manager, you will be expected to actively encourage and engage the student body to voice their opinion about

The Academic Advocacy Manager will also liaise between both the faculty and students to effectively communicate and expand on current academic policies and procedures.

Additionally, the Academic Advocacy Manager will be responsible for conducting reports and hosting the Annual General Meeting to inform the students about the impact their opinions have had on any potential changes made.

Operations Manager (2)

Does planning and executing events interest you? As the Operations Manager, you will be developing and organizing organize initiatives that are not offered by the affiliated umbrella clubs to provide students with practical and relevant skills applicable in a real-world setting.

These operational initiatives can take the form of information sessions, workshops, competitions, networking events, etc. The Operations Manager will also play a vital role in assisting other Management clubs within the umbrella structure with any needs related to planning and organizing an event.

Previous events hosted by former Operations Managers include Management Olympics, The Rising Stars Competition, P&G Networking, and more!

Qualifications:

· Detail-Oriented – Capable of recognizing minor details to effectively organize a smoothly operated event

· Ability to prioritize and multi-task – Securing corporate representatives, planning event structure, and performing other tasks while meeting a deadline

· Communication skills – Possesses the ability to effectively communicate with industry professionals and fellow students

· Organization skills - Ability to plan and execute comprehensive logistics for an event

· Knowledge of business fundamentals – Possesses core knowledge of different business fields as well as sufficient knowledge of case-writing and the foundation of business cases

Alumni Connection Manager (1)

As the Alumni Connection Manager, you will be responsible for communicating and reaching out to alumni, and aiding current students in expanding their professional network. You will be responsible for managing and strengthening the relationship between UTSC Management alumni and current students. Working with the Department of Management, the individual will also work closely with the MESA Team to continue MESA’s management alumni connections program, and to facilitate the use of the 10 000 Coffees Application.

This challenging role involves organizing networking events, social activities, and hosting panels in which alumni of the management program share their experiences with experienced students looking to jumpstart their career.

If you’re interested in spearheading an exciting program that benefits the professional development of UTSC Management students, look no further than this position!

Qualifications:

· Strong organizational skills to manage and plan networking, social, and panel events

· High level time management skills, in order to ensure that all events operate smoothly and according to schedule

International Advocacy Manager (1)

The International Students Advocacy Manager is responsible obtaining a greater understanding of international students in the Management program. You will be expected to actively encourage and engage the student body to voice their opinion on international student needs within academics, extra-curricular experiences, and student life. This role entails gathering and assessing data, and later, providing recommendations that helps students to develop their professional experience, and equip them with tools that will help them succeed in Canada.

This role involves extensive information gathering, in order to assess the needs and wants of international students. This information will allow MESA to host events that will be useful to international students, and help them thrive in Canada.

This role is exclusive to Management students who are not domestic Canadian students.

Business Development

Human Resources Manager (1)

The role of the Human Resources Manager is to maintain and administer internal growth through workshops, events, and executive resources. The HR Manager will work alongside the Business Development and Growth team to support and implement all development initiatives within both MESA and the clubs, as well as externally. Alongside this, the HR Manager will be responsible for recording the minutes for meetings and allocating them amongst the executive team.

The HR Manager will also organize and spearhead the Associate Program, including planning the program, orchestrating the hiring process, and developing the associate calendar. Within the Associate Program, the HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all Associate Projects, leading these associates through event planning processes, and providing assistance as required. They are also responsible for the professional development of these Associates, organizing and hosting monthly workshops, and monitoring the overall growth and progress.

If you are passionate about helping students realize their full potential, coaching, mentoring, and providing opportunities for professional development and growth, then this is the role for you!

Business Development

Data Analytics Manager (1)

The Data Analytics Manager will be responsible for updating, maintaining, and developing MESA’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database and translating data gathered from events into useful insights. The individual will work with Management club executives in order to ensure accuracy and transparency of data while thinking of ways to innovate and improve the system, while acting as the first point of contact for any CRM assistance required by other Business Development teams.

The Data Analytics Manager will also be responsible for post-event analysis, evaluating things like event outreach, membership sign-ups, event attendance and more. Other tasks include tracking and monitoring monitor conversion rates of each club and collaborating with the team to effectively gather and analyze all relevant data to assist with stronger decision making in extra-curricular initiatives

Business Development

Corporate Relations Manager (2)

The Corporate Relations Managers are responsible for building relationships for both internal and external stakeholders. A major task is to identify and pursue corporate sponsorship opportunities, while developing strategies to attract and secure new sponsors throughout the entire year. They will maintain and strengthen existing relationships with returning sponsors to ensure that sponsorship benefits are honoured and also develop new relationships with external organizations to support all initiatives within the community.

Under the new Management Umbrella structure, the task of a Corporate Relations Manager in MESA is to advocate on behalf of all clubs and identify opportunities for higher levels of sponsorship. The CR Manager will assist MESA and the Management Umbrella with larger initiatives, such as conferences and case competitions, and seek job opportunities for students. CR Managers will further assist in student development initiatives and work alongside the Business Development and Growth

communications)· Strong initiative to understand MESA and the clubs on

a micro and macro level and find opportunities for growth and development

· Willingness to explore new areas of development for MESA, the clubs, and the student body

· Strong negotiation skills, and persuasive skills (sales experience an asset)

· High level of confidence meeting new students, organizations, major corporations, etc.

· Ability to abide by strict deadlines while under a heavy workload
