Why is asbestos removal so important?

Why is Merryhill unique?

Asbestos is the single biggest cause of work-related deaths in the UK. Currently, there are approximately 4000 deaths per year caused by all asbestos related illnesses. This figure is rising and is not set to peak until 2015 to 2020. Some 500,000 buildings in the UK still contain asbestos, and as it can take between 20 and 40 years for any symptoms to show, effective asbestos removal is critical if we are to reduce the future death toll.

07 Where are your clients based?

80-90% of our contracts are undertaken in the following regions: South-West, South-East, Greater London, Wales, East Midlands, West Midlands. A proportion of our clients are national companies. We also operate in the Channel Islands and hold a separate license to do so.

08 What is the most significant change in the last 5 years in the industry?

The most significant change I have observed is that the industry is increasingly being perceived as one that employs highly skilled & competent technicians & supervisors, and is an industry that is rapidly developing in terms of professionalism, governance & compliance.
